How does this happen? Were you using it is a last ditch effort in a bare-knuckle brawl? I've never had a key just snap in two before.

Couldve been a weak spot in the casting.

I've never either until now, and I've owned a LOT of cars. Honestly I'm pretty gentle with it, I don't even hold it forward when starting like a normal key because as we all know the starter detent acts really like a push button. 43k miles of use thats not even that much.

when I bought the car the dealership tried to sell me key fob insurance - he stated the replacement was $250 (same price as the insurance).
Big no on that one!!!!!

uhhh why would you pay insurance that was the same amount as the replacement? Those guys must be wizards if they get people to take that deal......

where i work we had to get another key for a camaro to install an auto start and that key cost $230
