This is the best picture I have of mine. It has a flat plastic lens and a chrome metal frame. They also come in a black metal frame. The chrome screw covers are sold separately. I bought it at Knechts auto parts. About $12 for all.

I was referring to the post that said "the op is asking about "license plate frames", which you weren't.

I have a few custom vanity plates so I ordered the Altec Autocross frame to keep it looking new (similar to Weathertech). Chrome or Black Acrylic frame with a clear plastic cover to protect the plate and a rubber gasket that sits flush on the car to keep water / dirt / debris off. I liked the look after install so I got a few of them for my other cars.

No damage due to the way I mounted the plate. I have the ZL-1 add ons tow hook receiver installed so it projects a little beyond the rear bumper surface preventing the bottom of the plate from touching the paint regardless of the plate frame. I put a stack of tiny stainless steel washers behind the plate for the upper mounting screws. This creates enough pressure to keep the plate frame snug to the plate and off the paint. Alternatively on other vehicles I have owned to keep the plate off the paint I get out the hot glue gun and put a series of half dome glue drops on the backside of the plate, corners and middle and let it dry then mount the plate. Without something behind the plate the frame will touch the painted surface of the car.
