I'm betting on (hoping for) some kind of 1LE like handling/sport package for the V6/SS models that includes suspension and gears.

GM is under no pressure to release additional Camaro models beyond the I4, V6, and V8 SS. Other manufacturers aren't going to be offering much eihter: Dodge has suspended it's Hellcat sales orders, Ford is reported to be substantially limiting production of both the GT350, and GT350R.

Dodge has suspended ORDERS for the Hellcat, not production of it.

I think they're gonna come out swinging and have at least one performance package at the unveil, especially with all the track testing we've been seeing. Maybe a 1LE or the sixth gen equivalent.

It's been less than a day and all I can think about is the reveal. Hurry up
they'll probably have 1 car at the reveal.

I bet they have a 450hp SS and a 460-470hp 1LE type package almost immediately.

And yes, I do believe there is potential for a smidge more power than a C7 corvette as the Corvette does not have tubular headers but the teaser pics make it appear they are at least an option on the Camaro.

They suspended orders for the hellcat because they cant meet the supply. GM is dreaming this happens with the camaro. If anything this shows that the 60-70K muscle car market is there, longer they wait the more the competitors take customers. The prodction numbers for the 350 are 5000, and 500 for the R. That seems like alot of production to me, and no one is saying its limited to that. just what is expected.

No Dodge is dreaming about selling 500,000 Challengers in 5 years. These higher end cars are not even 20% of volume. The Challenger, Mustang, and Camaro would all be extinct if they depended 2-5k of these cars selling a year. So put things in the right perspective, these cars mean little to the bottom line. They mean more to us because we are enthusiasts, but we keep in mind we need the V6 and I4s to sell extremely well. Only on the profits of those do cars like the Hellcat, ZL1, and GT500s become feasible for the companies to build.

Don't count on it. One of the plant workers said on another forum that they have built "several models".

Was that "several MODELS", or "several CARS"??? Just confirming.

No Camaros have rolled the Lansing Grand River Assembly Line yet, and they won't for some time. If by several models you mean ATS, CTS, and perhaps early versions of their V-series, that's possible. Prototypes are generally made in unique engineering facilities, not the plants.

no one is talking about eliminating the "base" Camaros, but bringing on the performance model sooner then later will only improve sales, there are plenty of people lining up for a hellcat that would be ordering Camaros if the option was there.
