I think that would be a flop for GM. I really don't see what people saw in the second generation. The Mustang is going to be a modern sports car next. GM can't make something that looks like a frog as a competition.
I tend to agree with you. It has to have some retro cues, but "needs to lead" in design.... without reaching for rice paddies.

The new ATS is a little bit "sharp lines".... not too many "soft radius".... it would be nice to see a modern look with a nostalgic reach back.

More hp, lighter weight, and a naturally aspirated v8, otherwise don't waste your time building it. Also a higher redline so you can hit 200mph in 4th gear, I was promised a race car back in 06, all I got was an overweight base model corvette.

Please stop with the resign ideas. Move the current styling forward towards a smaller more futuristic look. Let the older models rest in peace. Trying to use those as a benchmark is a recipe for disaster. The 5th gens styling did borrow from the 60s cars but I think it was a bit lucky, it could have easily looked terrible.

You have a design here that is widely considered to be an amazing looking car, dont ruin it by trying to go backwards.

I'd try something more modern with the new one. At least take the 5th Gen forward and build off the 5th Gen. To continue with the throwback might not be a great idea.

One thing you notice when you go through this Camaro thread is all the mods that everyone has done to their Gen5s. We definitely like to make them our own cars.

Another reason to have a new design with every generation. Just think of the extra money made in mods that don't interchange with other generations.

My thoughts are little smaller, up the hp a little bit, better suspension and call it a day ... basically power to weight ratio and handling ...

The body design on the 5th gens are awesome! Build and improve off this style with reduced weight, and improvements to mechanical elements, as necessary, but be faithful to this look, please.

This car but 400 pounds lighter and a tad smaller and I'd trade mine in for one. And I wouldn't trade mine in for much. Not even a ZL1.

still think what i've always thought. they're not going to recreate the 2nd gen. Probably take the basic shape of the 5th gen and play around with it. maybe the quad headlight, open mouth grille of the 2nd and 3rd gens. maybe the taillight style from 74-92. overall it will be a new car though.
