I like how your club does different colored cones to show what side to drive on. Nothing but orange in my neck of the woods. Doing my 1st full course run this weekend after a few trips through the novice 1/2 course last month. Looking forward to coming in last, but having a fun time |

That's it?!?! No 315/30/19??? Where did you get this info? I've been waiting to buy 305/30/19 RE71Rs for my AutoX setup this year because I heard the rumors about the Rival S. I think a 305/30/19 front & 315/30/19 rear setup would be perfect for the 1LE.

P.S. I know you don't have a 1LE yet lol So yea the RE71Rs are probably still your best bet.

Assuming this will be the Rival-S 1.0 compound?

1.5, but it has nothing to do with compound. The difference between the 1.0 and 1.5 is the way the carcass is wound. They did this to sharpen up the response on all of the tires that are narrower than 275.....Which is why I find it interesting that these sizes will be 1.5.
Apex, I still think the re71s are the right tire to be on......especially for MKE. Only testing will show for sure.

if they just built it right the 1st time they wouldnt need to have all these 1, 1.5, blah blah blah lol. I dont like the games BFG seems to be playing with us.

They are just trying to keep up.
Something else worth noting for the 1LE guys. The Rival (almost all BFGs actually) typically run exactly the same dimensions as Mother Michelin as listed by TireRack....which puts the actual tread width of the 305 BFG nearly a 1/2" wider than the RE71. I can't speak to the BFGs cycling out more or less after the change, Bridgestones for me, but I don't remember Pete Calhoun or anyone else saying anything about a compound change.

I'll definitely be trying the BFGs. I tend to be a bit of an overdriver and they don't punish you as bad as the Bridgestones for overdriving. Also, with a two driver heavy car, like the Camaro, it isn't too hard to overheat the Bridgestones, IMHO. Not saying one tire is better than the other but I think for my case the BFGs should work well. I will, however if possible, test them against the Stones.
