Wow guys, this is my first time posting a thread on this forum and have to say the output, suggestions and opinions you guys have are awesome. You guys truly know what you're talking about. Whichever trim I get it will be a manual (nothing against the automatic) just personal choice. Does anyone know if the short shifter comes with the RS package or is it just one of the options? Thanks again

As others said, the choice should be made with consideration what matters to you the most.
That being said, if I were you, I would go with: 1. V6 if I plan to keep it stock 2. I4T if I don't care about the powertrain warranty and plan to mod it. Whatever you decide to go with, you'll get a great fun car.

I plan on getting the 2.0T or the V6 and will not MOD either. And will be an A8.

I am sure the turbo 4 will be a great car. I must say that the V6 is very very good. I've driven mines for about a week and I love it..I'm still breaking it in and haven't opened her up a lot but it's a great car for sure. The NPP exhaust makes it sound like a beast. Some of my friends thought it was V8. Gas mileage on the V6 is pretty good. I've had it for about a week and a half and I've put only $15 in it so far, and I'm averaging about 24 miles a gallon. I think you can't go wrong with either option, but if you want the NPP exhaust then you will have to get the V6

+1 you did the right thing I would never pay near 40k for a v6 no matter how loaded it is.The way the v6 has been priced is ridiculous

Personally not a fan of Turbos having owned several. They're nice when they work, but lag, intercoolers, collapsing intake hoses, carbon buildup, heat dissipation, failing waste gates and converter valves.... and the headache when they don't work... ugh. Not a good time to think back on. Stresses me out just remembering it.
I would not want to own a Turbo out of warranty unless I was independently wealthy, which I'm not. Had to completely replace one under warranty and it was just under $4000. The V6 is one of the most technologically advanced engines GM has ever made. A real piece of engineering, direct injection, DOHC, and I'm really hoping the LT4 follows in its footsteps. They really upped their game with the Gen6 V6, the Gen5 was a great engine but everyone was constantly trying to turn it into a V8. If it were my choice it would be easy.. V6 all day. |

Seriously, today's turbos have little or no lag, the cooling systems and oil circulation systems are far superior, you have modern engine management regulating them, and they are more reliable and perform much better now. |

In my somewhat related experience of driving GM's midsize turbo 2.0 cars and 3.6 cars the 3.6 cars were much much better. The 2.0T's were very laggy and I didn't feel the superior torque at all. The 3.6 however felt very torquey, given the car.
I think you should drive both to decide which is superior. The v6 will sound better for sure and if you don't plan on real mods, the v6 will be faster. A tuned 2.0T will probably match a v6, but now your warranty is gone. Just my thoughts. Drove a 2015 regal turbo (LTG IIRC) and Verano Turbo. Both paled in comparison to both Saturn Aura (Chevy Malibu) 3.6 engines. Those 3.6's were the 252hp versions. |

Just went to my local dealer to ask them about the I4's and I dont know if this is true since this is the only place I've gone to get some info but one of the Sales Managers told me they weren't doing any orders for them yet and are expecting the I4's to hit the lot late March- Early April. Anybody knows if this is accurate? Thanks.

I4 is a great test drive. Feel like a sports car not a muscle car if that makes any sense.
