COPO Hood

I'm playing with buying an Anderson Composites COPO hood for my 2013 ZL1. They recommend a heat shield and hood pins. That would defeat my clean look. I just drive it on the street. Anyone have experience in this area?

I got the vfn sonoco. I opted for the lift off, it's held on with dzus fasteners. They sell a bolt on one also, my buddy has one, no pins...super high quality imo...

That's what a Camaro should look like. Not much for helping the vision from the captains seat, but it sure helps from outside the car!

The way the cowl levels out makes the blockage very minimal...I have no issues

No issues...the cowl is open, cooler under there.

I have the one from MPD and I like the way it does not slope down in rear. It also works with hinges and no need for pins.

Max space does not have the support across the underside of the cowl...for more intake clearance.

Show finish is smooth on the underside... can be painted.

Mine is the standard sonoco...

you said your friend had a bolt on hood. vfn told me they don't provide a strut for my 2013. I measured my strut at 30 extended and 16 compressed. I have no idea how much my hood weights but vfn said i need a strut to support 25-30 lbs. To get there the only strut I was able to find on orrorr.com was 23 extended and 13 closed. Obviously that 23 aint going to work. Anybody do this before? Tks

Okay I just got off the phone with vfn told the lady I wasn't having any luck solving this strut problem. She says let me go in the back and talk to someone. She comes back...you're strut will work fine as our hood is actually a little heavier. Oh, oh, okay. Let me give this a moment and I'll call you back tomorrow.

The stock hoods are light...I can't imagine why the strut wouldn't work...
