Selling car- keep or leave Plates

So I sold the camaro and they are picking up car tomorrow. It is going to be shipped to buyer in New Zealand. Do I keep the plates or leave them on car? Not sure what I am suppose to do with plates since car is being sold overseas.

One plate was stolen recently btw...ha...so what to do with the only plate left on car.

Keep, you'll have to turn it back into the dmv if you don't put it on a new car.

Thanks for the feedback. Could i transfer the specialty license plate for my other car or is there a fee involved with making that happen?

You can transfer. I've had same plate on 3 different silverados. The dmv always wants a taste man.

It depends on what the state DMV wants, here in Illinois they don't ask for the plates back, got a few sets of plates that expired off cars I got rid of for one reason or another. Even have a plate that eventually I'll try to get reinstated for a truck I have someday. Ask your DMV about it.

Nice! The reason I want to keep it is for my bar man cave area. Plates read "JIMADOR" which is tequila.
