AFM Valve Delete Module update
The PCBs just came in. I ordered 4 and they sent 68 I will be populating and testing a couple of them out this weekend. If they work as expected I will be offering them for sale within 2-3 weeks. They will be properly potted and have OEM sealed connectors. A second revision is in the works to accommodate a feature request by the C7 crowd.
I just wanted to let you know they are real. Dimensions are 42mm x 25mm. Last edited by EFI Tuning; 11-11-2016 at 08:41 PM. |

Populated unit. Preliminary tests are looking good. I should be testing on my car later today.
I will need one more revision before they are ready. Tim |

I finished testing the first unit. It is working as expected. The final unit will be correctly potted. The wire length will be different than shown here. I need to get under the car and see what length will allow the unit to be tucked out of the way. I will start pre-orders in about a week.

A pair of these will allow us AFM guys to purchase the cheaper non AFM mid sections. That is assuming the mounting and measurements of the exhaust systems are identical. Anyone happen to know?

Well I'm knew to AFM and modifying cars, so I am clueless about this? Is this just to trick the ECU for some reason? Or will it provide some benefit when doing a cam swap or something? Might be useful to share what it's purpose is for those of use that don't know?
Gonna venture it's for the drone valves in the exhaust? |

1. In the need category you have the C7 crowd. Some of the guys that road race are burning up the AFM valves. This has been an on going issue with no apparent proper resolution from GM. It has lead to many interesting solutions... none of which are elegant. The AFM actuators are controlled by the chassis control module so we cannot disable the codes that cause a check engine light. The CCM is looking for certain things to keep from setting codes. 2. In the want/need category you have people that want to change out their exhaust setup. Some vendors properly offer setups with AFM valves and mounts for the actuators (for more $$). Some vendors do not AFM support at all. This can exclude certain aftermarket exhaust setups. These modules will allow you to remove the valves and actuators completely with no codes. My modules are not a simple passive circuits. If it was that simple someone would have done this over a year ago. They are active circuits that have the proper protection for the automotive power environment. I am also using the exact same connector supplier GM does (with weather seals). The final product will have the PCBs properly potted in electronics epoxy so there will never be moisture issues. I don't under design. I'm working on the revised schematic and layout as we speak (or type) and hope to have them out the door tomorrow morning for fab. Tim |

Curious - how are you eliminating the P3400 diagnostic?
