A Collection of Dumbest things Dealers have tried to tell you

As the Title States, I would like to create a nice collection of the dumbest things that dealers have tried to sell you as the truth about the Camaro.

Leader Board:

1. Post #10: Water in head light is due to Aftermarket Grill or CAI that you installed.
2. Post #35: Pirelli is the only Tire manufacturer that makes a tire that fits on the Camaro.
3. Post #36: Camaro with SRT8 Package.
4. Post #43: Sign the Purchase Contract Now, so that if you decide to come back the paperwork is already completed
5. Post #45: $10,000 markup because only 4 ZL1's will be made in 2012
6. Post #54: 1LE gearing actually makes the car slower.
7. Post #137: 2LT is a Turbo V6
8. Post #132: 1LE is not for sale it is only a Concept.
9. Post #102: We can only give you half of a $1000 Rebate, since we have to pay for the lights somehow.

When I was looking around to buy my car I considered the 45th edition and every second dealer tried to tell me that the reason why they had a higher price on the 45th editions was because it was a "limited" edition car. They failed to mention that it was only limited by how many they wanted to order

not with a car but a truck back in 2000

I asked to see a truck with a bucket seat and one with a bench seat. Couldnt decide on what I wanted to order so I wanted to compare them.

He took me to a truck with bucket seats. Then took me to another truck and said here is the bench seat. I was like hmmm these are the same seats as the last truck, they are bucket. He then went on a rant that I didnt know what I was talking about blah blah blah. Thanks buddy walked out and ordered from another dealer.

That the car was out front, ready to be test driven that morning, only to find out it was sold the PREVIOUS night. That was after confirming it was there before driving two and a half hours to get to the dealer. THEN they tried to sell me another car in the wrong color for MORE than the original car with LESS stuff on it.

Wow.

How do you know when a car salesman is lying?
When his mouth is moving.

My dealer tried to tell me the water filling up in my OEM headlight (that had never been touched) was either due to my phantom grille not letting air through or my CAI not letting air through causing moisture and water to build up in my headlight. I haven't been back since.

I think we have an early leader in this little competition of Dealer stupidity

Normally I might lick one of these, quote it, and say "now that's funny." But damn, these are all pretty good

I got lucky with the salesman, sort of, walked in at closing said "yall want to stay open late and sell that car right now?" So he knew I knew what I wanted and he said "you probably know more about the car than I do."

Looky there, an honest salesman, or one that recognized there was no point in trying to shine me on

Didn't try to sell me anything ... But,

Traded a Tahoe in years ago, I knew exactly what it was worth. Went in, told them exactly what I wanted in the vehicle I was interested in, how much I wanted for the Tahoe and that I didn't want to waste anyone's time, that if he couldn't do it, he couldn't do it. Straight up...

He left me sitting there for 20 mins and then came back with a counter offer of 4k less for my Tahoe. I walked. But not without him saying as I was leaving, "But this is how we do buisiness!".

Not the way I do buisiness buddy... Another dealership took my offer the very next day and gave me a cargo mat to boot.
