Talking Magnuson Heartbeat 6th Gen makes 530 RWHP and 588 RWTQ | JDP Motorsports

JDP Motorsports is wrapping up the tuning on our customers 16 2SS A8 Maggie Heartbeat install. We are pretty pumped about the combination on this car! We installed ARH LTs w/cats and a VMax ported throttle body with the Maggie. (We will be using the Kooks and Stainless Works systems as well. We have all three systems and all three have excellent quality, as always). Our Maggie equipped 6th Gen made 530 RWHP and 588 RWTQ. We saw gains of 146 RWHP and 186 RWTQ with this combo!!

JDP Motorsports is making HUGE, reliable power with these systems! Call and order or schedule your install TODAY while we still have this on the shelf!!

Please call, email or PM us anytime with questions. We appreciate your interest in our products and the phenomenal support, Camaro6! Have a great day!

All the best,

Jared Royce

I need some input from my fellow Camaro6ers. Thoughts on the Maggie look and performance gains....

Thanks in advance,

I take it this must be on extremely low boost? Somewhere in the 5-6 PSI range? Are you running a custom tune?

Also, I didn't happen to see any of your previous dyno runs, but don't LT1's usually put down 400+ HP/TQ bone stock?

Most of my knowledge and experience comes from the 5.0 Coyote, so I'm used to seeing much higher numbers...not that these are anything to scoff at. Especially if this is low boost...

Either way, from the pictures I've seen, it looks like a great fit in there. How was the install? Time, cutting/trimming, etc? Looks good.

Pretty nice! Heartbeat fits like a glove and looks OEM. This combination makes incredible low end torque but it seems like some additional intake breathing will help it in the high end. I will be just a little worried about this much low end torque probably 200lbs more than tranny rating and also traction. This SC is probably 5 psi due to headers and 6 psi with stock exhaust due increased back pressure. Right? Makes more torque than LS3 but dives in sooner probably due to cam. Those looking for FI will enjoy this very much!

I'd say you're pretty spot on with your guess on PSI. I was also worried about the tranny initially, but the 6 speed is rated to handle 1200hp/1000 lb ft of torque. Here's a great article that dives into the 5th gen as a point of reference. Obviously there are differences with the 6th gen, but the 6 speed hasn't changed much. The biggest limitation that I've heard about with the LT1 is the ability to deliver fuel to the engine. I'll be able to confirm more details in the coming weeks when work begins on my car.

http://www.hotrod.com/features/hrdp-...parts-failure/

I'm definitely not going to be drag racing or beating on my car. Considering my personal and work obligations/schedule, I probably won't even have time to take it to the track more than once a year (if that) until things slow down. I just want to have it built right and have the power available when I need it.

One other thing that I'd also consider is ceramic coating your headers to help manage the heat in your engine bay.

This is an Auto car. It made 384/402 in stock form. The manuals we have seen as high as 420/420 stock. This power was obtained with 8lbs. The baseline dyno from the car shows 146 RWHP gained and 186 RWTQ. I do expect that a good cold air intake with increase the top end numbers. Tuning wise, we were somewhat conservative also, seeing as how this is a new platform.

I agree! This kit looks like it belongs under the hood of the Camaro. A good intake will surely change things a bit, I would suspect. We knew we were running headers on this car so we spec'd a pulley that yielded 8 lbs with all other mods considered. The low end is unreal and surprisingly, the car makes good use of it unless you are trying to lay a patch, in which case, it does without hesitation. The Auto in these cars is sourced from the Z06 and it is rated at like 738 TQ so it should not be an issue. For what it's worth, we have a car making 1200 hp through a STOCK A6. Not saying that is a good idea but we keep waiting for it to break and with normal driving and the occasional drag race event, GMs auto trans has yet to fail us.

I have a good deal of faith in This new A8 until it proves otherwise.

All the best,

Jared Royce

Do you know why they call it the heartbeat supercharger? It's because we install and we make your heart start racing with how much fun it is, so lets make your car fun.

If you have any questions give me a call or even email me at antonio@jdpmotorsports.com

Best regards,

Antonio

Ha, it will start the heart. If you look at the opening and the rotors it also looks like a heart and it will beat at about 16000+rpms (beats) for all that hp and torque we all love. Nice job Antonio, keep it up

Gotta love the enthusiasm from our youngster! Hows the car treating you lately? I made the switch to Turbs but I miss my Maggie already.

Had a couple seal issues. Made it to the semi finals in unlimited at the Camaro Fest. Best pass there was 10.15@135, it was hot so Mike pulled some timing out since we were have problems with the rear seal. Went 10.29 first round and 10.30 second round and had to run a 69 Camaro that was running 8.80's. Didn't win that one. Its pretty amazing that this bone stock motor with the Maggie has 150 plus runs on it and its still together running 16 lbs of boost. Wow! We will be shooting for really low 9's next year. Probably gonna have to build a short block for it, cam, long tubes, you know the usual stuff to go faster. Its gonna be nice and cool Saturday night at a race I'm going to, gonna push it to get in the 9's if the air is good.

Mine made 713/669. Youngster, that's funny since I'm 66 years old. I may be at my limit, maybe. Yes, 10.03@138
