I don't think so. I'm really not sure other than plumbing for direct meth or NOS. I think it keeps it a tad cooler as it's very well made and circulates better than that stock. I'm prob talking out my ass, but the whine alone was worth the $1000.

I am assuming that the plate and other things in the top of the factory lid are for sound control. I could see the sound level of the NX lid would bother the "normal" daily driver owner of a ZL1, but us performance junkies, not so much.

I have the same set up as you.

I'm sorry, but this lid is a MUST if you have a Zl1. It has solved the 'lack of whine' issue that everyone complains about.

In the introduction video of the lid the company said that it would increase power on its own without using the injection ports as it was taller on the inside and it also had special machining on the inside to direct the air better.

Guess they thought I was street racing. I didn't take the video down. Pay no mind to the gapping I gave that Paxton charged Coyote. Btw, my Zl1 is for sale. (Never been raced). Only half ass tho. If I get what I want, good. If not, I'm keeping it. Btw, one of the sexiest sounding Stangs I've ever come across. I thought for sure when he pulled up next to me sounding like a fkng freight train I was gonna get rolled up, but the Camaro didn't let me down.
