I consider a UDP one of those since I'm in here mods to do when you do a cam. I don't feel the return is worth the trouble unless you already have a reason to have the factory pully off. Car is not going to drive differently, but the butt Dyno might be able to feel it a little. Don't even waste your money on a 10% UDP, get a 25% one.

I agree with Mickey. Only bother with it if you are doing something else that requires the labor to pull the old one off. My car drives fine with it. Zero problems.

We typically see 8 rwhp from a pulley install.

Hang tight, we are finishing up a run of TSP's new underdrive pullies & I promise the price will be nice!

Do you got a projected time when it'll be out? I'm about to order my long block from you guys and would like an under drive pulley very much to go with it.

but if you stall in parking lots when taking tight turns at low rpm (like I do because of having a big cam)... an underdrive pulley will make it worse (reduced power steering pump power).

On my car, I noticed that if I sit in the parking lot at work like I sometimes do at lunch, it will go into Battery Saver mode on the DIC and the AC will reduce power. But I'm a bit different, due to the fact that most of my driving is under 35 mph commute to and from work so rpms dont turn that high to charge the battery. Not to mention I have a BIG A$$ stereo system with 2 BIG AMPS.

Your stereo is most likely the culprit, I commute today I never went above 30 mph. I have 9,000 miles on my 25% underdriven pulley, trouble lights or battery issues. I did 3 other mods at the same time so can't comment on the performance.

Does the 8-12 hp numbers increase to a bigger number, if you have done heads and cammed already? Or is it a static number?

A UD pulley doesn't cause a gain in HP as much as it reduces parasitic loss from spinning the accessories 25% slower. So my guess is the 7-8 HP is a static number.

For those with cams and stalling and/or charging issues - might the idle be too low more so than impact from a UD pulley?

OP - I did my UD pulley with the cam swap. As others have said I can't recommend it as a stand alone mod.

I would not do a pulley unless I was doing a cam. The install is a pain on it's own for the little bit of gain you get. Thanks!
