Yea I would see how an NHRA car can benefit since they need to squeeze all they can, but a stock Ls3? For a .08 better time slip ill just take a mean dump before I his the staging lanes lol.

My family raced a four car team in Stock and Super Stock for 25+ years. In the last 10 years every run is logged with on board computers and correlated with weather stations in the trailer. Runs that spin are not used in comparisons, so you do end up with a pretty good understanding of what worked or didn't work. .08 gain is a lot in a max effort race car, so when you see it with the data to verify it, you know its real. You don't get to be a #1 qualifier or class record holder without a lot of track time to verify what you think you found on the dyno. If a max effort 450 hp stocker can pick up .08, a street can will probably pick up even more if the combination is correct for the car. "I have gained or lost .1-.2 tenths with ZERO changes to anything" I understand, street cars with street tires on poorly prepped tracks are much more dificult to do back to back comparisons. Running my LS3 with poor traction on street tires at the drags can be fustrating and inconsistent. Look, I come on to Camaro5 to learn what works like most everyone else, occassionally, I try to help someone learn from my experience Last edited by Cuda7050; 07-23-2013 at 02:44 PM. |

Well, I asked how, and you sir explained. Thank you for the explanation and yes that does make it more credible now. |

Yea, without a doubt wonderful times. Thanks to my dad, uncle and a few good friends for financing a sport that I could never afford on my own. Here is a crappy picture of my the last car I drove for about 10 years. It was an awesome car and owned by a great friend: |

It would be awesome if we could get these 5th gen's to wheel stand like that, without running high 7's or low 8's! DiamondMike...is it possible???
