Anyone know what this is on the door panels ?
I'm thinking it must be a way to see if the doors are locked or unlocked since the lever is not on the top of the door panel anymore, but I wasn't positive.

It looks like a tweeter for the sound system. that wouldn't be a bad place for one - as you're sitting there, the sound is angled upward toward your ear.

If it is a speaker I wonder if there is a way to see if the doors or locked or unlocked from outside the car....or for that matter if you are sitting in the car.

In some of the pictures it looked like there was a little LED next to the lock / unlock button, I'm assuming that lights up or something. Not sure how you can check to see if it's locked from outside the car. Press lock on the fob, I guess!

That would make sense...I know in the past when they didn't have the indicators at the top of the door there was a red indicator when the door lock was slid one way and no red when it was slid the other....I bet it's LED now.

..... Pull the handle, if it opens it's unlocked. If it doesn't open, it's locked.

Do they normally have an option to leave the car unlocked when the fob is out of range?

And when you are inside and the passenger needs to get out and check the mail it's nice to know if they are locked or unlocked by glancing at something.
