Final report. I picked up my car from the dealership yesterday. It looks amazing. The body shop really did a prifessional job and everything was covered by warranty.

I think I'd protect the paint after purchase by putting some 3M Scotchguard Paint Protection Film in this area...
My 2012 Sierra has small pieces in front of the rear wheel wells... and I see a lot of people put it on the front of their cars like a bra...

after reading this thread, I went out and observed on my car and wow! on how close it really is. I guess I'll be careful not to put stress as I close the trunk lid.

I too had this same problem. When I picked up my car I checked for this very item as I seen this thread prior to picking up my car. No chip when I picked up my car but after 3 days I noticed a chip on the drivers side in the same place as the picture in this thread. I contacted my dealer and took it in to have it checked out and found the trunk lid was not correctly aligned on the drivers side. Less than 30 minutes I was back on the road, trunk lid aligned and touch up complete. Thank you Rodgers Chevrolet !!! Becky and the whole Rodgers team are the best

Got me too...

Took mine to the dealer today, they acted like they have never seen or heard of the issue. I am scheduled to drop it off next Tuesday.

Out of curiousity, I looked at all of the ones on the dealer lot, they all seemed to be aligned much better then mine so....this must be a sporadic problem. Mine must have been built on a Friday at 4pm...

GM sure is aware. Bulletin # 15-NA-050. It was from November 2015.

Ajrothm, which dealer did you use? I'm in Pearland and use Frede and have been treated well by them for a very long time.

. Thanks for the info! That will help me a lot with the dealer as the paint and body shop manager was lost.

Hi, yes I am using Norman Frede Chev in clear lake, that's where we bought it from.

Ok, good to know. If their body shop manager is clueless I'll be prepared for them. That's the only dept there I've never had to use.

His name is Raymond, seems like a nice enough guy. I called him back and asked him if he wanted the Bulletin info and he said no, he would take care of it. I guess we'll see. I want it aligned and paint touched up as well as possible.

Hopefully they do a good job.
