Did a muffler delete on my L99 and love it!

I swear after doing my research and reading the comments/post about how the l99 sounds horrible with the muffler delete, it makes you think it's the absolutely worst thing you can do to an A6 ss.

"It's drone horribly", "AFM make it sounds like a ricer", and etc.

Well I just had to see for myself and I'm GLAD I did!

Drone??? You haven't heard drone until you had a v6 with a mrt v2 exhaust. It's almost no drone with this muffler delete. When the AFM kick in, yea it's noticeable but not horrible it doesn't bother me.

It's very quiet during idle or just cruising. Went you hit it, it roars!

Of course isn't doesn't sound like a tune axle back or a $1000+ Catback, but it's well worth it for the price.

This post is for the curious that are thinking about going this route.

It probably doesn't help when I have a convertible top that doesn't shut out noise what so ever haha but I don't mind the drone. Very surprised that this is way quieter than my mrt v2?

I agree with OP. Some act as though it's unbearable. Hardly the case.
Congrats.

I love my muffler delete. I even went a little different and did 10 inch long 4 inch tips to make it louder.

Do you still have the reasonator? If so then you haven't gone far enough to get the drone and the sound when afm kicks in. If you have removed the resonator then you have a tolerance I do not. Congrats, I'm glad you like your exhaust

I heard a 2010 L99 that sounded awesome with a muffler delete that's why I decided to go with the Solo Performance axle back system with J-pipes for the drone cancelling. It should be here any day now.

No resonator on ours and the drone really isn't as bad as y'all make it out to be. Maybe it's just cause I'm young and it doesn't bother me. lol

I have the magnaflow competition muffler delete axle back. I have zero drone.....the afm is louder but that comes with the territory. A tune will cure that. im glad I did the mod....sometimes you just need to find out for yourself.
