Am I the only one thinking about the V6 instead of a V8?
Don't get me wrong, I am still 90% sure that the 2SS would be the car that I buy if I go with this new generation Camaro....but I keep reading little things here and there about the new V6 from different magazines and reviewers.
The last thing that intrigued me was that the new V6 sounds like a "Jaguar F-Type" when revved. I dunno folks.....I might have to take a V6-RS on a test drive before I make up my mind. |

Yes...J/K.
V6 is impressive but I have a V6 Camaro already. I want a V8 but unfortunately, they won't be offering a V8 like I want. Best thing is to get a test drive of both. |

The V6 is a very nice car. Take your time, do some test drives and make an informed decision. But I do recommend this!

I was 100% set on the V6 until I saw the pricing and options. I wanted adrenaline red interior, black 5 spoke wheels and a spoiler/HIDs.
The pricing of the V6 with options isn't very good. It's 11,500 between a 2LT and a 2SS. But when you add in the options: 1500 for V6 1950 RS 2800 convenience and lighting (required for adrenaline red) 600 wheels (800-200) 0 adrenaline red package (500-500) That brings it to only $4650 difference from a V6 to a V8. Look at any comparison between a 2LT and a 2SS used, I guarantee it's more than a $4650 difference between them. So I got a V8. In the end I don't think it will even cost me extra other than gas. |

I personally would never buy a 4 or 6 cylinder pony/muscle car. So V8 for me...

The V6 this gen (and well...the 2.0 and V8 included) I think is going to be amazing. Exactly what we wanted out of the 5th gen...lighter, more nimble, faster, and a better all around drivers car. I think the V6 will hit on all of those points, while being basically just as fast stock as a 05 - 10 Mustang GT.
You aren't the only one thinking V6 I'm sure. I was thinking 2LT V6 instead of SS originally, but then I found out I could get invoice pricing and hopefully a few other discounts through my dealer, and then I decided on the 1SS with a few options. Here is the deal...with enough options tacked on, even the 2.0 will be a $35K + car. If I was going to do the V6 again, I wanted all goodies. 2LT V6, 8-speed, NPP, RS, and lighting package (really just wanted HUD and the 8" driver configuration display), and one other option...can't remember what it was...safety?? . That adds up to around $39,600. Yikes. (My 1SS with NPP, and 8-speed is a hair under that) But you guys shouldn't be shocked at that price. Go to the chevrolet website or the Ford site and load up a 2015 Camaro V6, or a 2016 Mustang Ecoboost. Again...you are looking at mid to upper 30s. The price on the V6 isn't all that bad comparitively, even thoug yes it can get way up there. My 2010 Camaro 1LT with RS and auto, and connectivity was around $29,500. If you build a 2016 1LT V6 as closely as you can to that, it only comes out around 1,000 to 1,500 more, for a much better car, with more standard features.

I prefer the looks of the V6.I think the V6 front grille looks a lot better than the V8 (SS) one. But if I go 6th Gen, I'm going V8.

I like KMPrenger's posts. They make a lot of sense.
My ultimate decision was based on wanting an optioned out model. I want leather and all the tech goodies. The pricing simply wasn't feasible for me to go 2SS. Beyond that, I went V6 because I think it will be plenty of power - and fast enough. I bet any of the models will be good on the track. Plenty of people track Miata's & BRZ's after all. And, as far as expenses go. It's not only fuel economy and premium fuel. Also need to keep insurance premiums in mind.
