Those people that look down on the V6 probably have some crappy car. The ones that actually have a nice car and look down on the V6 just want to feel better about themselves. Honestly, if it wasn't for the weight, the V6 Camaro would be really quick.

Says the guy with no car.

Like I said earlier V6/V8 whatever it all boils down to insecurity.

HAHAHA...all you have is a measly V6. Just kidding OP. Camaros are beautiful cars no matter what is under the hood. And G5 V6 Camaros actually have more power than most American muscle cars 15 years back and before, including Corvettes. I wouldn't be concerned about what a minority of people think about your car. Most people who aren't Chevy enthusiasts probably couldn't tell the difference between a 1LS or a Z28. All they can tell is you are driving one gorgeous car.

I drive V8s only but, that's my preference.

You must learn early in life not to care about their opinions as you bought it for you and if they wanted you to have a V8 maybe they should have paid the difference.

Idiots will always judge you for something... Enjoy your choice...

Just drive a LFX stick or automatic 1LS or LT and you will know why Gen4 and older owners talk bad about V6'ers. They're embarrassed by 323 hp and 25+ mpg.

Naa, naa, naa!

They are compensating for some kind of deficiency in their lives.
Deep down inside they are most likely miserable and want you to be miserable too. Don't give them the satisfaction.
Concentrate on what's important to you.

Don't let people or situations influence how you feel.

This is crazy, your parents bought you this brand new bad ass Camaro and spent 26 THOUSAND DOLLARS while they are driving 1999 vehicles.. sounds backwards to me. My parents bought me an 89 Chevy pickup bone stock with 300000 miles on it. It's not what I wanted (wanted a firebird) but I was very thankful and loved having it and drove it for many years.

My daughter turns 16 in two years, I won't be buying her a brand new car. She will get something safe and reliable for her first car. When she gets a job and saves money she can get what she WANTS.

I'm 33 and my "V6" Camaro is the first new car I've ever bought. If my parents bought me new cars when I was younger and I didn't have to drive all the POS cars I did, then I doubt I would appreciate my car as much as I do.

Just enjoy your brand new car, and be thankful your not driving a 20yr old clunker that's always on the side of the road with its hood up!

You are young, grasshopper.....But over time you will come to realize that most people on the planet are a..holes. Be thankful for what you have, and don't envy others for what they have. It will only suck the joy out of everything, and then one day you'll wake up old and bitter. Remember that life is one and done. no mulligans, no do-overs. Appreciate everything, and take nothing for granted.....But definitely get a ZL1 as soon as you can scrape the cash together.

OP you will learn that most people talk just to hear themselves talk. What matters is that it is YOUR car. It doesn't matter what other people think. We all know that high-school can be tough, and kids can be assholes, but these things always find a way of working themselves out. Hell, a few months back at my work (Oil and Gas Company), ordered in catering for lunch, and a guy that used to "Bully" me in high-school was the one carrying the food. Here we were, graduated at the same time, yet I am working an awesome paying job fresh out of college, and he is working at Mcalisters (Not that there is anything wrong with that). It's always great to listen to those people talk bad about your camaro but then you learn they drive an Accord. Like I said, it all comes out in the wash. Enjoy life and focus on yours only.

Also, if you are looking for a V8 you can find them for great deals. I got my 2011 2SS with 200 miles on it in December of 2012 for $29.5K. Just gotta be patient and look around!
