With a car like this, the rear seat works in a pinch. Any more than that and they should have used the space to make the car smaller.

Is it possible that the new car will have slightly more leg room than the 5th gen or the ATS? Sure, anything is possible. Is it likely to have significantly more leg room? Sorry, no.

Bottom line: If you want a car with a lot of rear leg room, please move on. The Camaro is not the right car for you.

I love the rear seats in the Camaro. It gets me out of carpooling every time. "I'll drive but you have to sit back there".

This is upsetting news about the leg room - I really need something that can fit 3 to 4 people - gonna go look at Audi TT instead.

All of that for just a smidge under 40k.

Please, Please Please Camaro 6, match the Caddy ATS rear leg room at around 33.5, drop some LB's and add 50hp and an 8sp to at least make it a decision.

Thanks, that is all
buh bye

If you get bigger, lighter, and faster, you can bet it won't be cheaper. I think best case scenario for the 6th gen Camaro is a little bigger, weighs about the same, power is about the same, and less expensive.
Meh - I dunno. Never been in an ATS, but the interwebz specs say it has 33.5 rear leg room vs 33.1 in the challenger and 29.8 or something in the camaro. The whole more expensive argument falls apart when you look at the interiors of a caddy vs a Camaro. I mean the weight is already announced as being 200lb lighter, so check box there. I highly doubt there wont be a HP bump, so check box there. The ATS already has 33.5 rear leg room, so its certainly feasible with the new architecture. Lets just call me hopeful.

A Corvette is a sports car. Why bother putting in a laughable back seat? If your going to do it, do it right.

So much this. I don't understand why they write off the over 25 with a couple of kids crowd. We don't all want to drive boring ass cars, or have the garage space (or money) for our boat, our classic, our fun car and then our boring DD.

See ya - I'm sure my tail lights will look great from back there Unless Chevy gives us a little more useable car, that is...

I'm pretty sure it's only there for vehicle classification. If they turn the camaro into a boat with a big back seat I'll scratch it off my list immediately. Like you said, get yourself a challenger. It's roomy and still has some balls. Looks awesome too.

It won't be as big as a Challenger though. Good for some, bad for others.

I wouldn't expect low 12's from a stock 392 though. Mid 12's, low 12's with DR's is the norm in good conditions.

The real scary part of the ATS rear seat is the lack of headroom with a sun roof. There is a head pocket that when I lean forward I whack my noggin.

Also there appears to be more space from the front of the door to the front axle comparing an ATS to the prototypes.

If the 6th Gen loses interior space/function in the front or back seats, it will have a negative effect on sales. After checking out the ATS coupe at the Las auto show I went to, the interior space is adequate but I wouldn't complain for an extra inch or two of rear seat space for family and friends.

Come on guys, if you need a daily four passenger car, then the Camaro is not for you. Plain and simple. Rear leg room is going to be just like the last three generations. It's there if you're willing to move your seat forward every once in a while.

My point is these are fairly large and heavy cars and yet smaller cars, coupes/convertibles and even 4 doors have more interior space. Its the same with the Vette, its a huge freakin car with only two seats.

I can sit behind myself in my convertible, granted I'm not 6' and don't have acres of space but I fit fine. If other manufacturers can do it how is it the Giants GM and Ford can not?
