I've made the same trip more than a dozen times in my 5th gen in the last 4 years (as well as to TX, FL, etc). This was also an exercise in seeing how the car fit in this instance; in capacity, efficiency, comfort, performance, etc. My 2010 2LT was fine in the same situations for the most part. There's no reason to not want to run the SS through the same gauntlet. I also bring the cars to a Father's Day club meet so my 3rd gen group can see, touch, feel and check out the car along with family & friends who are also enthusiasts.

I rent when the weather in the northeast is suspect; typically after September through to late April, or if I'm actively shuttling more than 2. Having my daughter cramped into the back for a 15 minute run to a relative's house isn't a 'demand', but it was more confined than I'd anticipated for both.

Nobody likes scuffs, chips, or the like but they go hand in hand with actually DRIVING your car. I take very good care of it, but I USE it. I'm sure you noticed it was a simple side note and not a diatribe about bumper damage.

You don't have to agree with my experience, usage, or anything else, and really don't care if you do or don't. The critique is valid, however, like it or not. Regardless it's still my favorite and the most fun car I've owned/own to date and I love the car and the product to death, but doesn't make the notes any less relevant.
Well put indeed.

The problem with this world is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be penalties for stupidity,
but why don't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem solve itself.

A lot accomplished these past days
1) removed red "ss" front and back, installed the black 50th versions
2) installed the skip shift eliminator
3) ZL1 addons rock guards installed
4) GM black out tail lights installed

Next is that third brake light and blacking out all reflectors

Where were the chips? Two places rock chips are nortorius for.. front bumper and rear rocker panels (upper and lower). But yes, it will happen if the car is driven and more than likely on the highway.

The most significant ones are on the bumper & grille. The rockers haven't ever been the issue as much as the front of the fenders are below the belt line, above the factory protection film. Was the same with my 2010 (actually worse as it had ZL1 wheels on it) and on my 2014.

I got a few the first 3 hours I had the car since I had a 3 hour drive home from the dealer and, surprise, the highway was under construction. Sa la vie.

I've got some nasty chips in places....I Figure a new bumper setup in a couple years will be fine, mine came in a whole month earlier than we thought so I had no place to 3M the bumper and hood :(
Definitely can't buy it and not drive it though, these machines are too fun!

FYI depending on how far back the seat is, in your normal driving position, you won't see as much recline as the guys with coupes, the seat back will hit the wider B pillar trim due to the top mechanism Me too.

Received and installed a rear window roof spoiler.

Got it on eBay, quick shipping and easy to install.
