Wow. Ass whooping has been served and nay sayers shut up. The lingering doubts of braking and curb weight, squashed. 3760 with every single option checked on 20" wheels?! 3652 for a 1ss?!
Nearly a 1g skid pad on run flats. Amazing. |

That's a moot point any ways. You need both hands on the steering wheel to hang on haha.

Both the articles of Motor trend very pretty Meh... Nothing new was said and it feels like they were in a hurry to finish the article... Car and driver were pretty ruthless though in describing the interior... Btw Motor trend reports a fuel economy of 17/26 for V6 and 14/26 for V8... :O :O :O

Congratulations Chevy. This 6th gen is no joke! Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a 2017 50th anniversary in a little over a year.
Oh, and did Jalopnik get to do a review after their little mishap at the reveal? Lol. |

"That’s not only faster than the last Camaro SS 1LE we tested, but it also hangs with the 505-hp, 7.0-liter V-8-powered Camaro Z/28."

Now that we got the basic first drives out of the way, bring on the head to heads.

I was really hoping to see a video or two from Motor Trend tonight. I assume we have to await the head 2 head or mag update next month.

You sure about that sledge? Are you looking at the epa #s at the bottom with all the performance specs? If so, it states they used the 6spd manual. It also shows a pic right below that of the manual shifter.

Fairly sure they are showing the numbers GM provided and not numbers they came up with. It is also why we have 3 numbers... 14/26/18. They may have tested the Manual, but those numbers are representative of both Manual and Auto (I think)

Looking at the performance of the base model 1SS Camaro you do not need magnetic ride control.... 60-0: 104 feet... 0-60: 4.0 seconds (with manual) 1.00G on the skid pad..... Clearly this car can put down lap times faster then the fifth generation 1LE Camaro that is an obvious. If I were to buy a 2016 SS Camaro it would be the base 1SS as it has everything that I wanted (would have cost me $39,000 in the fifth gen). |

That 18 is the combined mileage i am pretty sure... Anyways the article does state the final EPA numbers were not obtained. But even with AFM on V6, the numbers are quite off from the 290/30 for highway people over here predicted...

If I remember GM stated that both the 2.0T and 3.6V-6 will get over 30MPG on the highway.....
