First time @ Buttonwillow with 1LE

Hit Buttonwillow for the first time this weekend. God dam I love my 1LE. I am running Nito NT01 tires, DTC-60 pads on the stock brake system with quantum ducts, and a 32Mm rear swaybar. I entered the Redline time attack event for extra track time. Managed to get into the 1 min 58 sec range. Good enough for 5th against dedicated time attack cars! Oil temps never went over 266 with the stock oil cooler. Worst part is traction sucks in the cold. I was sliding literally out of every corner. But this car handles so Fing well hahahahaha. One more time attack session to go. But as my brakes are done, I don't see me going any faster.

Congratulations

Don't underestimate the benefit of having more seat time in this car on that track under your belt.

Summer tires will warm up in the cold, even to the point where they start talking to you through the sweepers. But it does take longer. The flip side is that you're somewhat less likely to overheat them.

If you have time, swap up to something like G-loc R10's or Carbotech XP10's before your next outing, and flush/refill the system with one of the higher-temperature DOT4 fluids. You should at least hit the rotors with a sander to remove any OE pad deposits.

Yeah just did my first track day there. Awesome track and your right the temps were managed to be acceptable with the stock cooler. The last track day was at Auto Club Speedway in Sept the daytime temp was 100 degrees and yes that is were stepping up to an dedicated oil cooler was needed.

I ran 2.07 at Buttonwillow after watching the videos needed to grab 4th gear more often and not ride out 3rd near the rev limiter. I just posted the videos up on You Tube and also on the autocross track video thread here.

1.58 is awesome run for sure. Post up the video or link so I can get some pointers.
