OEM catch can + Elite?
Is anyone running the OEM catch can PLUS an aftermarket one? I've seen a few posts up here suggesting that but I didn't know if anyone had a definitive answer. I was hoping to just use the OEM one, but if it's not getting the job done I'd like to know.

There are two sides to the PCV system. The "clean side" and the "dirty side". The OEM separator only works on the "clean side" which is only responsible for about 5% of blow by. Aftermarket catch cans address the "dirty side". Running both is the optimal solution.

Awesome, thanks for the quick answer. So no issues with running both I take it.

The lower side catch can help with WOT (wide-open-throttle). If you're not doing that for extending periods of time I wouldn't bother. I have one but I'm tracking (or plan to do more) my car. |

Sorry to chime in a good friend of mine his dad works for GM and we asked him to look into this RE: with NA motors you get some oil blow-by in the pvc system ,but not as near the amount as the DI engines as again as the v6 side and with the new 8 there is no fuel vapor flowing over valves which does not remove the oil residue from stems and build up occurs,so make a long story short yes on DI not indicated on NA but user pref...

DI or NA??? Sorry if I sound ignorant but how does someone know which one they have? I have a 2014 2SS manual.

All of the Camaro engines (Except for the supercharged ZL1) are Naturally Aspirated (NA) from the factory. I think he means whether the engine is DI (Direct injection) VS non DI (or SFI). http://www.carsdirect.com/used-car-b...-pros-and-cons
The LS3 and L99 (V8s) are SFI to my knowledge. I too wonder if the price justifies the benefit. Since most racing applications use them I assume the theory is correct and more benefit can be seen if the engine is consistently run hard. It would be interesting to see a study done for daily driven engines, etc.
