Thumbs down

The '16 SS wing spoiler it looks very small, like it does not belong to this car. Hope that GM corrects it.
I don't know if painted in black it will look better.

Haha, coming from a mustang guy. Ford's been putting pedestal type spoilers on mustangs since the late 60's.

Normally I don't like "big spoilers" but certain cars pull it off. 91-92 camaro

i don't like it. doesn't look like a Camaro spoiler to me. my guess is they tried 3 different regular spoilers on the 5thgen SS so they went with a wing for a change.

This one was way to big and ricer. The new one is just right. I think there are many folks still clinging to the past and this spoiler edges the camaro just a little father away from the 60's design. I say good job GM. I love it and can't wait to own one. It's starting to feel like 2009 all over again for me the more I see it. I'll go as far to say that I like the looks of the 2016 SS better than my ZL1 which now looks dated.

The SS spoiler is definitely functional! I've posted in other threads about this, but during the unveil weekend, I listened to Tom Peters take about 15 min. to explain to those around him about all the details involving design, shape, distances (gaps), angles and wind tunnel testing in the development of the spoiler. He was very thorough and was more than happy to answer all questions fired at him during his explanation of all the work that had gone into the development of that spoiler. The bottom line for the team was that since the SS has such high performance track capabilities, it was deemed necessary to incorporate extra down force at the rear wheels to help stabilize the car at track speeds with the end result being improved handling under track conditions. Way t'go Chevrolet!!

The SS spoiler certainly has a "raison d'etre" with its design as opposed to it being simply an eye candy styling exercise.

Best regards,

Elie

That makes me even happier. I didn't know that. I love it when things have a purpose over just slapping something on for looks. Thing is, this time it's both.

I'm fine with it, probably won't change the spoiler it comes with.

That… spoiler was just completely stupid as hell. Every time I see a Camaro with one of those things, I cringe. I think it was the aftermath of some collaboration with Michael Bay's Transformers to make the car look a bit more extreme. It looks like it came from a Playskool set.

So yes, historically, there have been far worse spoilers offered on the Camaro from the factory or as dealer-installed options. Still, the 2016 spoiler is very clearly not very popular.

I really hope there are more people like you out there. I'd definitely be pretty happy if there's a surge in the used ZL1 market. 2012-2013 ZL1 is my golden standard for the best looking Camaro built.

Neither were a lot of things about every 5th gen, but people got over them and still bought the car.

For sure.

The 91-92 z28 started me down the path of Camaro. Wasn't it also available on the 90 iroc ?

Love it.

Still dream of a nice clean black one with better rims and an ls3/6 speed swap.

I agree with that list other than the Cobra R.

I don't like the SS spoiler either. I personally don't think it fits the car from the pics I have seen. Just my personal opionion . Good news is the spoiler is a pretty easily changed part. It could be a lot worse.

Like many said, I also would prefer the lip spoiler.
Just by looking at the shape of the spoiler on 16 SS, it seems it won't really add much of meaningful down force, like on C7 Z06. Then I want it to at least look nicer.
(maybe I'm wrong. I do hope that it does really work as garfin said)

I will vote for Spoiler delete option too.
