It's way more expensive. You probably get more power, but there will be more issues with it. At that point, you're better off just going with the v8.

And what kind of mileage do we think the 4 will get?

1) Are you certain about not needing premium fuel?

2) Personally, I would not use regular in a forced induction engine. Think about it.

I do not recall what the ATS 2.0 requires, and Cadillac may say regular fuel will work, but since Chevy engineering recommends using premium in the turbocharged Cruze in summer heat conditions I would mistrust Cadillac engineers saying using regular is ok.

Just trying to understand. Your buying a new car, modding it, and voiding the warranty. Or you could have gotten more power with the other stock engines

The new gen LTG is supposed to run off 87, but iirc that's in the Malibu which is rated at only 259hp

I'll just leave this here...

(If you couldn't see the time, it was 12.06, couldn't read the mph though)

This one ATS in particular is leaning towards the heavily modded side, but I'm not 100% sure on what all has been changed. Custom header, different turbo, catless downpipe, different intercooler, tune.

Without throwing a whole lot of money at the ATS 2.0t, there's guys running mid 12s. That's pretty impressive to me.

I wasn't really planning on getting a 6th gen, and it may sound blasphemous, but I'm seriously considering the 4 cyl and modding the hell out of it.

270hp and 295 lb/ft torque is almost as much as a 4th gen LT1. (285hp/325lb/ft). That's not too shabby out of a 4 cyl. I hope all 3 versions do really well. Don't know if a 6th gen is in my future plans....too soon to tell...Right now I'm sticking with my 1LE

the beauty of this is that you have engine choices. No one is demanding that anyone buy a 4 cylinder - but there IS a market for the 4 cylinder.

And yes, CAFE is a consideration.

Lastly - no one said we would not offer a 4 cylinder in a Camaro.

This 4cyl will breathe new life into the Camaro....5th Gen V-6 sales were about 70-75% of Camaro sales....I don't think that would have continued into the 6thGen...Positioning the v-6 as mid-level or upgrade is a smart move....

The 4cyl will be the economy model....perhaps not much by mileage but it will be better than the 6....and I tell you this, turbos are very popular with younger buyers, and you bet they will be modded. And you can't judge anyone for spending mod-money...Probably more modded SSs that could have just as easily bought a ZL-1 for the same money, than there will me modded 4 bangers....

The 4 cyl is more proof that Camaro offers many, many choices and I'll think we'll see more to come....Nothing has been ruled out in the V-8 department, and the 4cyl is no threat to anything in the line-up....

That's ok tho, this V4 Camaro is going to be eating well

[edit] Nope, you're correct, it did in 82... Check out that 0-60 time
Wait, why are some people calling it a V4?

Because some people are so used to saying/typing V6, V8, V10, and V12 for engines that they forget the V means there are two banks of cylinders with a V-type arrangement?
