Red brakes

After looking through all the pics I didn't notice the six have any red brembo brakes like the 14-15. Any one have any idea if there will be an option?

The SS will have Brembos standard. The LT/RS will be an option/available.

I think the OP was also questioning whether or not the calipers would be red. I have not seen anything to suggest they will be red. Perhaps painted calipers will be an option similar to the Stingray.

Would be nice, hoping they offer red, yellow or black calipers.

I believe the red calipers was used on the 2013-2015 Camaro SS with 1LE package only. That usually was an indicator that you had the 1LE, because there was no 1LE badging. If Chevy make it option for the 6th gen SS, while cool to have, it would take away from one of the ways of identifying the 1LE package, which I hope they bring it back for the 6th gen.

From the Camaro5 "1LE Section":

Red calipers add to the dramatic track-ready appearance of 1LE.

Well I hope they will offer it! Red sure looks better than the plain ole black brembo calipers

they'll probably be the normal grey/whatever color the 5th gen brembos are. and red for the "1LE" version.

it is not usually a good idea to paint the brakes calipers.
they get very hot, the paint will break down very fast, unless you keep painting them.

I think powder coating solves that issue, no? Seems like powder coating is a much better automotive option for high heat items like calipers.

I really want to do mine when the car arrives.

They make high heat paint specifically for this. Its called caliper paint. They make it in all sorts of colors.

http://www.rustoleum.com/product-cat.../caliper-paint

Now the calipers on the Brembo's are not exposed metal. So that is a different story.

I thought I read somewhere that the 6-piston brembos are the ones that come red. The stock 4-piston come gray

Is this new? When I ordered mine it said only the 6 pistons would be red.
