Interesting Tid Bit

Got both Road and track, and Car & Driver today and they both covered the reveal of the new Camaro. and both report the Camaro will have a 440HP variant of the corvette LT1. I wonder who is going to get the Pinocchio award GM or the Mag's?????? On the web site it states 455HP

I read two articles from two other publications saying 440 too. This could be a prerelease thing that the media is just late to the party with.

Articles for publish in a magazine have a Long lead time. Quite often they are written 3 months or so before they get published, so the articles did not reflect the updated specs.

No mystery here.

Three month lead time for print on paper is the nature of the game.

Yep, no mystery or growing noses here.

Motor Trend got all 3 engine HP wrong. 270 on the I4, 330 on the V6 and 440 on the V8.

Here is how you can tell ...

if the number is followed by the letters 'est' its an estimate
if the number is followed by the letters 'SAE' its solid

Those were the preliminary *at least* numbers given before official reveal. 455 is the number from the horses mouth.

What if the number isn't followed by letters? Just saying.

Good enough for me. I only said that because the Internet articles I read didn't have letters just numbers. I just figured it was a case of earlier reporting but not being published til after the cars reveal. I really don't belive this should in happen though in today's world.

No mystery here.
And people wonder why print media is dying.

I still have the mags delivered to me but more and more I find myself just reading the latest on their website or facebook page. When my subscription runs out I won't be renewing. Had C&D and R&T delivered to me since I was 13. 24 years.

Just like the newspaper.

You're right. I alway laugh when my father in law tells about about a car or something in a magazine only for me to tell him that I already knew about it from the Internet. He refuses to give in to the net still and has the magazines still coming.
