New to Camaro5 and getting a Camaro RS!
Hey guys!, new to the Camaro5 forum. I'm 17 about to turn 18 and getting a grey Camaro RS 2015 soon unfortunately my dad doesn't trust me with a SS. I just had a few questions if you guys can maybe help me out.
- Is the 2LT worth it or is the 1LT fine and are there any big differences - Loudmouth AxleBack exhaust or MRT v2.0 - Best CAI? - Tune/chip worth it - Subwoofer - Interior footwell lighting Any extra add ons I can add to make my Camaro faster and look badass? |

I'm a basic guy, some ass stole the radio out of my Miata, and I'm not concerned about replacing it. Manual windows and locks, I don't need anything fancy, even having a/c is pretty fancy for me. Basically, I'm saying skip the silly bs with the 2lt.
Just get the VTC and call it good. Save up for your own SS later.

Well start you off early getting your Camaro name correct.
There is no Camaro RS. You will have a Camaro LS/LT (1LS, 2LS, 1LT, 2LT). If you save up for an V8 DO IT!! (1SS, 2SS), then there is a ZL1 and a Z28. RS is just a package for the car, like the 1LE performance package. No one says they have a Camaro 1LE only it is a Camaro SS 1LE. While I am sure your calling it RS because it souns cool, there is no such thing. (just looking out for a future Camaro owner, dont want the trolls to hit you hard before someone warned you) |

Save for a 2SS/RS V8. I regret my decision for buying a 1LT/RS.

At that young of an age the LT will do just fine.

Welcome to the site!
I was in the same situation as you are in right now. I went from getting a 1LS to a 1LT and finally settled on the 2LT. My parents also didn't trust me with a SS right off the bat. One major thing that drew me towards the 2LT was the heated seats. It was a must since I live in cold Canada and that I'll be driving it to school and what not in winter. The 2LT also comes standard with the Boston acoustics sound system which is not all that bad IMO. I see why people say a V8 will be better but also consider that you are a new driver and the last thing you want is a bad driving record at a young age because you were caught street racing with a couple of buddies. Don't do that. Besides, the V6 has a ton of power for a young driver. As far as the interior footwell lighting goes, I'm pretty sure that it's an optional feature to add. Talk to your dealer about it and they'll have it installed. I plan on buying a 2SS or a ZL1 down the road on my own but I am pretty satisfied with the 2LT I have right now. If you want to compare models like I did, here's a link: http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro-spor...ecs/trims.html Hope this helps!

I was in the same boat. My DAD said I should buy 2LT. Back in December 2013 I was just waiting for 2014 Camaro 2 LT to arrive in showrooms. At the same time I got the same price of 2SS 2013 as they were offering 2014 2 LT to me. And I went for it. If I had bought 2 LT I would have regretted until now. 2 more cylinders makes all the difference in muscle car sound, driving pleasure as well as mods.
I would also say WAIT for 2016 to arrive as well. and then make your decision. |

I had a 1LS and it was quick for a V6. I would stay away from MRT V2 i had it on mine and it had a bad drone at highway speeds but it did sound good. Go for the higher trim will make selling/trading later easier. I had the cold air inductions CAI and loved it i also had a ported throttle body. Dont waste your time with a plug in tuner if you want it tuned go to a professional shop.

Also there really is no SS 1Le as you state, since 1le is just a production code. We just have SS's with the 1LE performance package. So your logic is off, and your splitting hairs with a kid who is just excited for a new car and everyone knew what he meant. |
