Ford Mustang Beats Camaro, Challenger in November 2017 Sales
The Ford Mustang beat the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger in November 2017 sales,
marking the first time that the Motor Company has led the segment since July –
while also all-but-securing the 2017 annual title.

The Chevrolet Camaro was second in sales for November 2017, moving 4,737 units.

That is down more than 900 units from October and around 150 units from the same month last year,
so overall, it wasn’t a great month for the Camaro.

Was the Camaro included in the 20% off Black Friday Sales?

That could be the reason.

Bought my 16 year old son a new 2017 Garnet Red Tintcoat RS , V6, A8, on 9/30/17, before any of us had even sat in Camaro since I owned a '79 Z28. He, my wife, and I all love it and love to drive it. Live in a small N. Ms. town and everyone has had a fit over it. The lack of visibility is completely overblown, especially with the backup camera. You want a giant windshield, side/rear glass, buy a van or giant pickup, not a sports car!

Have in mind that Mustang facelift deliveries started, new models should usally end in a sales bump

That is pretty low sales numbers, especially for Camaro. Mustang bumped up, congrats to them....Challenger is back where it usually is....Too bad, it would be nice to see these numbers be double for all three.

I guess they are right that buyers are going to the SUVs and crossovers...That looks particularly to be the case with the Camaros losing out to SUVs...Oh well, not the end of the world (yet)....there's always next month...lol...

Yep...and Ford is probably having fire sales for the outgoing '17 Mustang to clear dealer lots.

Declining sales numbers like Gen6 has seen reminds me of Gen4 sales and we all know what the outcome was there. Back then it was a trend towards economy cars, now the trend is SUV and truck sales. The Corvette has been having similar sales struggles along with 4 door sedans. Sadly, I wouldn't bet that we ever see a Gen7 but if we are fortunate enough to see a new design I would look for a drastic styling change away from Gen5/6 designs that allow for greater outward visibility.

It's not nearly that bad from a profitability standpoint...the car is built in a shared plant with a shared platform (that meets crash-test standards). 4th gen had all those issues and more.

But we can safely assume they are thinking hard about how to increase sales.

But all that unravels with the CTS going off a bigger A2xx and the ATS going smaller. Interesting to see how this plays out as a viable Cadillac is likely more important than the Camaro in the bigger picture.
