Take a look at this spyshot. You can easily see the 2 rounded rear lights. The shape is pretty similiar to the 5th Gen rear lights, but more moved together that the upper part overlaps.
Have to wait and see what they look like. I'm not too sure I like that oval ish look going on there. The bumper indents highlight the shape. So, yeah, looking similar to the 5th gen, but more of a dual shaped one piece. You can see the top edge is straight and the bottoms are notched. Looks like the outer is a tail light and the inner is a reverse light. Kinda like a 1967 Camaro setup. Not too different than our 6th gen but definitely more pronounced separation.

As a reminder, standard ’67 Camaro has one large lens with a tail and back up light (RS and SS models had a single red lens with the back up light mounted under the bumper).

Guys do not read into the headlights/taillights shape on these spy shots. Just look at this spy shot from back before the 6th gen was revealed. There's a reason we have this

In terms of an evolution of a vehicle...I absolutely disagree with you. They do look similar.

In terms of do they look exactly alike? Well then I'd agree with you...of course they don't look the same.

But come on...we are talking 50 years of evolution of a car. It has kept similar body lines (long hood, short deck, long doors) and the shoulders or a few other details that let you know the car is at the very least in the same category of vehicle.

To this day, it still bugs me when someone calls the 5th gen, and especially the 6th gen "retro". No they are not full on retro! They are very simply evolutions of a design.

If you disagree with me, would you call the modern Porsche 911 retro? Well you had better, b/c that car has been a similar design for decades...yet you don't hear people looking at that car and going "dang that is so retro!".

Simply put, for the Camaro to remain a Camaro it needs to retain the basic profile of the car and same basic purpose. Deviate from that, and you no longer have a Camaro.

I’d consider the 5th and 6th gen retro because they were based on the 1st gen style, while every other gen looked completely different. The 911 has always looked like a 911.

Probably, Camaro will get some led just like the new Silverado. That pickup has 3. Hope, an MCE will have 2 in each headlight. Quad headlights would be awesome.
What do u think?

You can see that the quad-shaped headlight-"bulb" here, which is basically always a sign for LED headlights. Guess LED lights and digital gauges are a safe bet for the refresh.

I see the slight resemblance. It looks (to me) more like the evolution of the current Tahoe/Suburban design...and I REALLY like the new grille/front fascia...it overlaps itself, with what looks like vents in the sides...and the "bar" where the bowtie is is actually split so it doesn't look so bulky...

At first I thought, "ew"...but but it grew on me real quick, especially after seeing the real-life photos - but this is about Camaros, so I'll shut up!!

It's a Colorado that's been stretched to a bigger model....

You can almost guarantee the 2019 will have LED headlights. Cadillac has them, so they're in the parts bin. Mustang also has them now. Just a matter of what they'll look like.

I have to ask a dumb question. Don't the 6th gen Camaros already have LED headlights? I thought mine were.
