What oil are you using?

Just trying to figure out what oil the majority of people are using in their cars. I'm not sure which way to go, had my oil changed at 200 miles after a cam install and now have 750 miles and want to do another change. The shop recomended joe Gibbs ls30 oil but it's not available local.

use Mobil 1 5w-30 and you will be fine. Extended life is preferred over the standard Mobil 1. For track use, Mobil 1 15w-50 is recommended by GM. I would trust a major manufacturer like Mobil over a "Joe Gibbs" oil.

Mobil 1 is considered by most a subpar oil for a cammed ls engine. It's been covered many times and the search function works very well to find these. If I had an aftermarket cam no matter which oil I use I would be getting an oil analysis at every change by Blackstone labs only $25 iirc

Maybe I don't use the "search" engine correctly, but I find it next to useless. Pulls up every damn thread there is for every search word. For instance, if I type in "z28 oil cam recommendation", I get post of "recommended head rest", "cam install", "z28 blinker fluid", etc. So, when someones says just search for it , I would like them to go stuff it because unless you are complete idiot the first thing most people do is "search". It's just way faster if you just get a straight answer, regardless if it's been asked a million times.
