Buying a used 1le from Ron Fellows driving school.

As the title states, I've been looking at a 1le that was used for 4,000 miles out at Ron Fellows driving school at a racetrack called Spring Mountain. I'm obviously worried about the track duty it has seen so I checked in with a buddy , who is an ex-GM corevette factory driver , and he said they take really good care of the cars out there. He also said only the instructors get to drive the Camaros, so no students have been in the car . The kicker .... they explained to me the car has little or no warrenty . (Checking with GM about this ) . The car is a 1ss, and priced at 36k . Does anybody here have any experience with buying a car from there or DC motors in Anaheim California ?

$36k sounds high for what you described.

I’d never pay $36k for a track owned car period but that’s just me

Yeah, agreed. Also, the track is Spring Mountain, it’s outside Vegas.

I was going to try and talk them down to 32 or so considering the warrenty and track time . Also the car has been for sale for 3 weeks now . No way it will sell at that price .

I agree , would only buy if it was way cheaper . Just not sure what it's really worth . What's your opinion ?

I would have said it's worth every penny if it weren't for the fact that pretty much that entire 4,000 miles was on the track but at the same time how do you know any other used 1LE you find at a dealer hasn't seen the track just as much. At least you know they maintain their cars probably better than most.

I say if you don't want to spend the $40k for a new one then try and get them down $1k-$2k and make a deal.

It is a car that by function was beat up on really really hard (at least potentially) and may have some major cost related to that. For that reason alone $34,000 is just way too much money for that car, needs to be in the $20,000 range unless it was a car that they never ran hard.

The car could have a blown transmission and still get $20k. I think that's pretty unrealistic.

What year (2017 or 2018)? Regardless, without a warranty ... more than likely, she's been rode hard and hung up wet! ... I would pass on that one.

For $36 you can get someone's fully Xpeled garage queen certified from a dealer with 100k warranty, probably never over 3000 rpm.
