No I drive anavearge amount. Gas expense is not a big concern.
I disabled the AFM on my G8- I did not like the vibrations in V4 mode.

Basically, what happens is that AFM activates while the cylinder is on the compression stroke and disables the valves from lifting & the spark from igniting. So the air charge gets trapped inside the cylinder acting like a spring. In essence, the disabled cylinders get caught in a loop of compression/expansion strokes with no ignition until AFM gets turned off. Quote:
