Exhaust Help
Currently I have a "custom" exhaust (Magnaflow universal mufflers welded in place of the stock mufflers). It sounds great at idle and below 3k RPMS, however as the RPMS increase the deep tone goes away and it sound pretty much exactly like stock. In addition, the drone on the highway is a pain in the ass.
What can I do to increase the sound of the car in the upper RPM range? I spent about $350 on the exhaust and it is well done, but I'm just not happy with the total sound. Are there any options other then headers (high flow cats, x pipe, etc)? I also would like to get rid of the drone, which I assume is just getting J-pipes welded on (admittedly I have no idea what that involves). I'm not opposed to scrapping what I have and going with a full catback, but I would prefer to not have to. In addition, my next mod is going to be the Z28 CAI, so I don't know if that will change the tone/drone at all. Last edited by SWAT 79; 10-05-2015 at 05:27 AM. |

Get LT headers... or go Joe Dirt and cut the system off behind the cats. (Ya don't do that)

How much is install typically for Long Tubes? I imagine that would make the drone a whole lot worse too

Giving this a bump.
Essentially what I'm going for is louder in the upper RPM range, and getting rid of the drone. |
