you could either lose the cats or get headers or both

Watch out

You will get ear bleeding drone with headers. I have been experimenting with J pipes, but haven't hit the sweet length yet as it seems the frequency changes as the exhaust gas heats up. It (cherry bombs) sounds sweet outside, but the drone ruins the driving experience. You can go to my expensive alternator thread in forced induction to hear the sound from outside, if you want.

I have Long tubes and 1 chamber race flowmasters, it really only drons on the highway in 6th gear but stop light to light is not bad. Then again I dont mind drone, but it sounds killer! I get allot of complements on it.

High flow cats will deffinately add volume and some horsepower as well. Without adding headers swaping to some high flow cats is really the only other exhaust mod that will add any horsepower. If you're not interested in long tubes you should deffinately check out some high flow cats. We carry a few options.
