2018 ZL1 pinch points
Hey all
I’ll be damned if I can find the pinch points to use my ZL1 addons jack pad! Is it me or are they hidden under the rockers? HELP

Yep, you’ll have to feel for them in the rocker cutouts. There are three. One forward one aft and one about a foot behind the one nearest the front wheel. If you jack on that one you will, eventually, lift both wheels. Check the rest of the forum for jack points and pinch weld “puck/plate” set ups. If you can’t find em let me know and I’ll add some links.

Pinch Points
Here they are. You can see the "cutouts" very easily. Just attach the ZL1 Addons to the vertical piece of sheet metal in the cutout and you are good to go.

The last pic (left front)... is it the pic playing tricks, or, is that pinch weld section totally bent upwards to almost flat?

I even got the top Service Manager of the dealership involved when I thought it was being lifted wrong. At first he thought it was too. This car had just come out and not to many on a lift. He got with the body shop manager and personally took it to the body shop to fully check alignment of the body, I think it uses lasers. The care was Perfect!! He even gave me the printed report of body alignment. I love this dealership. So I got a bonus out of it by getting it checked, knowing everything was ok even before they put it on the lift.

I use the ZL1 add on Jack pad to attach to the pinch wells in the cutout under the rockers.
I can lift it from the center pinch well to lift both the right and left side at the same time. Makes changing tires a snap. For oil changes I use the front pinch well areas to lift either side and use a "Race Ramp" tire crib under both front wheels. This keeps it plenty lifted and safe while crawling around underneath.

I can tell you one thing, that aluminum front sub-frame is really flimsy. Thought I read you could lift the front of the car... from the center under the engine, it started to give on me when I used my lift jack, while up on my four post.

Agreed......I don't care if the dealer, bodyshop and owners manual say its ok.......lifting on the aluminum subframe is NOT ok.
