It's obvious Ford built a product people want and Chevy played it safe. I think if Chevy took a little more risk with the styling and dropped the belt a little bit, this car would be selling more. The price is also an issue for a parts bin car.

I love the car and who doesn't want a 12sec car right off the factory floor but in my case I just can't afford it and I can't afford to keep paying more and more for cars ......

Exactly, small, light, two seater...yes, lines can be blurred, but a Camaro or Mustang is not a true sports car as it doesn't fit the definition. And it's not a bad thing being a pony/muscle car, just different...

Mark me down as a sale for September. Waited and took advantage of the cash back bonus Chevy was doing last month.

I never cared much for the 5th gen, it was just too big of a car and the interior is horrendous.

I think GM nailed it with the 6th generation. And I had to have one...at the right price of course haha.

I would have bought a 2.0L Turbo Camaro but GM didn't include LSD with the Non V-8 Automatic crowd ........ Lost a sale here ....

What's a 911 then? Would you say it's not a sports car?

You're going to lose this argument, btw.

Not looking to argue, I work in the auto industry for an OEM, we deal with class breakdowns on a daily basis. Camaro and Mustang are classed as sport coupes.

PS, a 911 is small and light, and some don't have backseats...classed as sports car.

Similar, sure...same, no.

The rapid depreciation doesn't help either.

I would call my Camaro SS every bit as much a sports car as all the Vettes I have owned.

The Mustang is worse. Also don't take GM RV values as anything. They purposely want to discourage leasing camaros.

What's wrong with parts bin. CTSV is parts bin. 1M and M2 are parts bin. C63, E63 parts bin. Audi R8 is parts bin. If anything the Camaro is a good deal compared to the cars it shares parts with.

I swear, if I hear "Parts Bin" one more time as though it's a bad thing, I think I'm gonna lose it. This isn't the 90s, anymore, people - let it go. No need to constantly re-invent the wheel within a brand when the wheel is already f'ing phenominal.

Ford built a product people want......it's Cheap. Simply put...economies of scale and all that. Chevy built a premium product, by comparison, and that seems to be resulting in lower volume.

...Except this month.

People outside the industry have no clue. They hear "parts bin" and "badge engineering" but have no idea what it really is or what it means.

Tell us, oh wise ones, what makes the Camaro a "parts bin" car. And yes, I know the answer and it isn't a bad thing.
