Yeah but winters are probably pretty mild in Phoenix.

I think everyone has focused so much on the winter driving issue the OP mentioned that they've overlooked his other comments.

He mentioned saving insurance money. He mentioned wanting more than his V6 can give, even considering an SS. He found another car "refreshing."

This is more than just a winter driving concern. The OP is ready for something new, and wants to move on.

OP, good luck. Hope you find what you're looking for.

William,

You guys should design a relatively affordable sporty 2 door coupe with AWD and offer it with a manual transmission. Sell a cheaper RWD or FWD version to meet the high volume requirements. No american car manufacturer that I'm aware offers has a sporty AWD vehicle with a manual option. Could be a big hit, just saying...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please?

Now to the OP,

I can certainly understand your predicament, I'd suggest finding a reasonable used AWD vehicle as a DD and winter beater. Save some cash up for a used SS in a few years, instead of spending money on winter tires and trying to beef up a V6 when you really want a V8. Be patient and your hard work will pay off!

Do you mean like this?

GM has put plenty of thought into it, they just need to build it.

Nick C.,

I appreciate your recommendation! I will definitely document your feedback, which may be accessed by many departments here at General Motors.

I just think at this point in time the wrx will allow me to save some moeny and build for my future. Ive found myself to be a Chevy guy, but im actually an apprentice Tech. for VW, and I have learned to not be so one sided with cars, you gotta appreciate a car for what it is and its capabilities. Its going to be really hard to part with my Camaro.
Agree. Can't be one sided for cars for various reasons.

I agree w/ everyone regarding winter tires. I got some and I have slid only once and that was on purpose. It is like a tank without the need of weight in the back.

Sounds like you want the wrx. I say get it. When you save here/there, you can mod that thing to be scary fast.

Get a VIN from a autotrader site and check your insurance on it! Make the cost savings is worth it.

Just keep the Chevelle name plate reserved for something super special! No front wheel drive 4 doors please!

Thanks Will

Didn't see anything saying RWD, but yeah I saw the Code 130r a while back and remembered thinking...hmm small 2-door inexpensive sporty coupe? Seems to be working for Subaru and Scion right now lol

just buy high performance all season tires.

seriously, it's astonishing that people act like a RWD car is the end of the world in the snow.
