Not a slam. They all make great cars, that in some ways surpass the Bimmers. But on balance, and specifically in driving dynamics, they all fall short.
Cadillac successfully took the M3 head-on and won...over, and over, and over again. There's plenty of reason to assume they can do the same thing with the M3...

I could care less what it has or doesn't have. I bought a 5th gen, because it is a timeless body style, a sure classic and it has the big displacement LS3 I want. I plan on having this car for 20-30 years, so it doesn't matter to me

I'm so glad to hear the Camaro will probably be on Alpha. The V8 debate is pointless at this point. There's new CAFE standards. Besides the DI V6 is better than most V8's of the past. turbo charge it and your looking at low 5 second 0-60 times. I'd rather have a V8, but the bottom line is---it's fast! Isn't that what it's about??

I want the last 10 minutes of my life back... from reading this thread.

7+ pages of V6, NO! V8, NO!, V6, NO!, V8... CAFE means... V6, NO!, V8, NO!... but CAFE means...

How about...

...

2014?

alright, so i was kinda upset when I read that there'd be a V6 and no mention (yet) of a V8 (since 2014/2015 is right about when I'd be looking into buying) but look...this is still 4-5 years away. there's no reason to start freaking out NOW when we still have a great deal of time until the 6th gen is confirmed. I understand where everyone's coming from, but when it comes to the Camaro, has GM every really disappointed us? i know, personally, my answer is a resounding NO. i have faith in GM and even if they have a turbo/super V6, i will still continue to support them. to say that you're going to Ford or imports because of this is ridiculous. let's calm down people

Even though there are some very fast 4 and 6 cyl cars.
they just do not represent American muscle to me!!
agreed!

lets not forget that v6's play a big part in the muscle car history, dont forget about the all powerfull buick grand nantional

I dont think it is the last of the V8 yet, but I can see 20 years from now where all muscle cars have some type of turbo v6 in stead of V8. I gues I'll have a classic 2010 Camaro SS by then. IMO not a bad classic at all
