Manual all the way. I won't buy a muscle or sports car without one.

For manual drivers-
rev matching, how do u feel about the car doing this? I rev match on my own and it would seem strange to have the car do it for me. Has anyone driven a manual that has rev match? |

I was on here complaining when the Zl1 came in auto. But after having a high Hp Auto CTSV and seeing the new Z06 auto run I'm going auto. I have a 6 speed in my 4th Gen and it's fun for cruising but if you really wanna go I think the auto is the way. This is my opinion based on the fact I'm plaining on the LT4 version. If I was getting a V6 or SS I might give more thought to the stick.

Manual and Auto is a difficult question for me. I have a stick now after 25 years of minivans and SUVs with Autos. Most of the time I really enjoy having a stick again. The exception is my commute home, 45 to 90 minutes of bumper to bumper. I'd probably go with a stick again.
I though that muscle cars were big block V-8s. Pony cars were small block V-8s. Sports cars were exclusively two seaters. Times change, things improve. The DCTs perform better the traditional autos as well as manuals. If the 2016 Camaro were a DCT I might go that way. Maybe by the time I'm ready to pull the trigger there will be a DCT. |

Manual doesn't necessarily mean no AFM on the LT1. AFM is "available" on the 7 speed Vette as well. It may very well be on the 6 speed as well.
Also, so i'm contributing to this thread. As of now I'd go 8 speed. If year two has a 7 speed available, id be temped to do that. (for the record my 5th gen is a manual). It almost seems like they're pulling an apple move. Stick the 6 speed in on year one. Then make the 7 speed a new selling point for year two. |

I think GM said AFM was only on the automatic model.

Wow that is huge for me. I wonder if they disabled it at the computer or removed all the valve train components as well.

I would love the 8-speed, (I already have a M6 ZL1), but I'd take the M6 again just to avoid the AFM.
