If it were going to be a hatchback the cutline for it would be like the Stingray on the outside of the rear window. People were already complaining about rear visibility with it being a hatchback that would even be worse. Plus a hatchback would increase weight instead of reducing it. It would need more structural reenforcement for that big hole in the back.

The 5thgen convertible has a shorter trunk lid than the coupe does and I have no problems getting stuff in the trunk.

The way that taillight cuts into the quarter panel, I could see as a throwback to '74-'81s, as well.

There appears to be no room for a convertible top? And if there is one it will not have any trunk room.
