Can't wait to join the FI club! Kris at JRE is checking with Magnuson to see when my kit should ship. It's got to be pretty soon I would think, I ordered on 3-8. Even tho I'm nearly 60, I'm like a kid before Christmas waiting for that UPS delivery notification email....that's a bit ridiculous I suppose lol!

Hey oneredry, looks like our cars are virtually twins, or will be once I get my supercharger installed. How long have you been FI? Has your Magnusen experience been positive thus far?

yeah just about twins.

I had my car for about a year or 1700 N/A miles on them. I got mine in March or so, installed the supercharger over winter break (took my time) only real help I needed was that harmonic balancer. It sure is a Pain!!!!!!!. But with a little heat gun it will loosen up the Loctite and you should be able to get it. Other than that, it was a smooth process. Just read the install instructions pretty thorough first then pay close attention to what your doing and you'll do just fine.
I ended up sticking with the SCT tune for the first few months, noticed that I had a lot of black soot coming form the exhaust (running rich, which is safe side from magnuson). I ended up having it re-tuned with HP tuners to make the car a little happier with a little more power.
This winter I caught the boost bug and ended up one size pulley smaller with a few add on. My goal is 550WHP. I tuned with HP around 528WHP then and I need to get it re-tuned with what I added.. Just keep us posted as to what your goals are, what your dyno results will be.
Ted is obviously as you well know, pretty good at what he does. So your in good hands.

I had 530rwhp/550rwtq with the 98mm pulley (6-7psi). We have swapped to the 95mm pulley (expecting 8psi) so that I should put me at 540rwhp or 570rwtq. Now, keep in mind this runs will be in 5th gear, so according to Pray, that means my real rwhp should be about 20rwhp higher if I actually ran in the 1:1 gear (6th)...just not happening because that is too fast for the dyno. :-)

Ultimately, the track will confirm power with trap speed.

Magnusen is teasing me, sending one box at a time lol! I received a box yesterday that weighs 85lbs. according to UPS. Based on the size/shape, it appears to be the supercharger. I haven’t actually seen it, my daughter sent me a pic. Another 40 lb. box is slated to arrive this afternoon. I’m hoping this will be everything, but it really won’t matter as I am booked absolutely rock solid for the next couple of weekends. I’m debating whether to do the install working a couple hours after work for a week or so or wait for a free weekend. My car is not a DD so having it out of commission for a week or two is not a problem.
I looked over the Magnusen instructions on line, they appear to be very complete. The installation seems very straightforward. I do not have any experience installing FI hardware, but I have done nearly everything else over the past several decades. I’ve dealt with numerous stubborn balancer bolts over the years and have a full complement of impact guns as well as heat guns, oxygen /acetylene outfit, etc. I should be able to coax the bolt out without much trouble.
Can’t wait to get started!! I will keep everyone updated on my progress!

As of right now, it looks like weather is going to cooperate and we will go get the final dyno and tune completed on Saturday. We are planning to run 8psi which will put us right in the 540rwhp/560rwtq (running in 5th gear)...being conservative, that means we are good for another 20rwhp in the 1:1 gearing.

I do think it's interesting that several recent posts people are running 10 psi on stock internals...since I am not a track guy...more like a cruise to the golf course guy...I am going to stay more conservative until forged pistons/rods/upgraded fuel system.

I will post the video and results on Saturday.

Well, Drsagacity, it looks like you're on track to get your final dial in completed just as I'm ready to get started. I reveived my last package from magnusen yesterday. I got in late and did not even peek inside the boxes last night. But what really struck me when i moved the boxes inside my shop was how heavy they were. I wonder how much weight the maggie adds?

No idea.

Laynlo, what did your sled weigh last year when you were racing? Did you have a weight from before?
