For me, it's more of a performance thing than an aesthetic thing. The wing might not look pretty, but if it gives me downforce and improves track performance, it's beautiful.

I like it if it's beneficial to the handling of the Z/28

Not sure what there is to dislike about it if it's functional. I wouldn't add it to any other Camaro just for looks.

I am pretty sure you are wrong on that.

Yep, real track aero on a real track car = function over form which is good. I have to admit to a knee jerk bias toward not liking wings because of the useless bling connotation it has in my mind from the Fast & Furious crowd. Course I'm not against Fast & Furious so much as this seems to have translated into Slow with a Big Wing/Fart Can for many.

+1. Z_Rocks....have you met the Viper ACR?

I can assure you they wouldn't be driving the cars around the Nurburgring with that equipment if they weren't production-intent. They have a wind tunnel to toy around with aerodynamics. Testing at Nordschleife is not cheap, and they don't waste their time there.

Also, I want to raise a point...wings are airfoils. A teardrop-profile shaped blade that uses deltas between high and low pressure of moving air to create lift/downforce. And they are enormously beneficial to high-speed vehicles in that they generate tons of downforce when designed and applied correctly (think about how a many-ton airplane is lifted into the sky), without generating an obnoxious amount of drag while doing it.

One of the big reasons the Z06 Corvette doesn't reach quite as high speeds as some of it's similarly-powered competitors is drag. The low gurney-flap style spoiler is so aggressive for downforce...it also steals top speed mph, and efficiency mpg from the car.

Now, the Camaro has way too much frontal area to directly compete on the same levels as the Z06...however, this giant wing is no doubt the most effective way to get the car to do what they want it to do...without turning it into a big parachute at speed.

I am DYING to know what levels of downforce pressures they're generating with this setup.

As long as these wings are functional...then IMO, they're not "ricer wannabes", its called physics and engineering.

I bet it beats the Z07 stage 3 for down force.

I hate it and I am the target market as I do track my car a fair bit.

Now there is a but, if you look closely, the mounts do not look like the typical structure. I am just guessing, but it looks like it might retract to a spoiler like location. I could live with that. My Firebird is currently getting a splitter and spoiler added. Wing was never an option. I loved the look of the Z06. Rarely do I like wings. On the Viper ACR I like it.

The right wing can look amazing, on the wrong car it can look like this.

I ALWAYS value your points, and yes, I have met Viper ACR, but I doubt Z/28 is going that extreme with Z/28 compared to ACR.

BUT, a Z/28 with that wing will look very HOT on the street and God willing, I will have one, to enjoy.
