Quite possibly the stupidest thing I've read on this site.

What if I don't want it? Haha. Just go fast stuff, I don't really need amenities.

Because this is 2015 people want it all, performance and amenities. But yeah it would be nice to build off a base model but we all know that won't ever happen.

Can say the same thing about the Turbo 4 and modding it. At that point just buy a SS.

The same stuff is said in the Mustang forums and the Turbo 4 just cannot compete with the GTs and many 4s in the Mustang are already having issues.

So the LT prices are not bad in fact the 2016 LT Camaro is cheaper then the 2015 LT Camaro, I think people are getting confused because there is no LS Camaro.

If you are looking at buying a 2015 1SS 1LE Camaro then it will be cheaper to buy a 2016 1SS Camaro (laps faster then the 2015 1LE based per Al).

I think it is all going to come down to how you would want the car optioned determining if the 2016 is cheaper or more expensive then the 2015 Camaro. If you want a base no option 2015 1SS then yea the new car is more expensive no matter how you shake it. However if I were to buy a 2015 SS Camaro right now it would have to at least be a 1LE car (which brings the price up to $38,000) and I might want the halo lights and leather seats as well. For me the 2016 Camaro.

Though I guess it all comes down to will the consumer get sticker shock or will they crunch numbers between the Mustang and Camaro.

I would however honestly rather spend $30,000 on a 2LT V6 Camaro compared to $30,000 for a Ecoboost prem. Mustang.
Remember the 1LT now uses the 4 cylinder as the the standard engine. If you're wanting to compete with the ecoboost engine, you'll most likely have to upgrade to the V6 at around $1200-1600 bucks (guess). Then I suppose you could throw the RS package on there too since all mustangs come standard with HIDs and LED lights.

one word, folks: Appeal.

Camaro outsold the Mustang for years despite not having a "competitive price" or stupid-high rebates like the Ford did. The bottom line is, the Camaro is a better car. People will pay for that. They did...they are...and I think they will continue to do so.
Your brand loyalty is showing.

I think it was MUCH more due to the fact that both the V6 and V8 base trims started with 100HP more than the Mustang. This segment hadn't seen a 400hp stock engine in 40 years. It was a big deal and the price was justified.

It's hard to predict right now how the pricing is going to go over at the dealerships this time. The new Mustang's performance numbers were disappointing to me but not only did it sell well but the 4-banger was a hit as well. You just never know.

Folks the 1SS isn't that "loaded".

Yes HIDs are standard, as is the touch screens, then again the same is true for a $22,000 Mazda 3 (the screens at least).

Sure it's going to handle better, but you don't get the better rubber the 1LE had or the wheels. MRC, extra. NPP, extra. It's nicely equipped yes, but it's not that amazing. The 2SS will be very nicely equipped but it's going to be either right at 40,000 or a bit beyond.

An automatic, NPP 1SS is going to have a MSRP of past $40,000. Thats a big number to crest for a base, cloth interior car

In 2011 that difference was gone. Didn't help the Mustang sales. HP was not the key to sales then and it isn't now.

WoW ..... they just priced themselves right out of another customer who was going to buy an SS, ....... LoL, now you can't even get a Limited Slip Rear in the Automatic SS, how Super Sort can it really be when you can't even get a Performance rear setup .... too funny and disappointing, hate to see what a nicely equipped 2SS is gonna cost .....

It's much more loaded than a base GT, which is what everyone is comparing it to.
