And sure, they're crazy now but I don't know if they'll stay that way (and who knows maybe you can use the gas prices to get a deal on a V8). And you can always drive the V8 less aggressive. You can't drive the 4-cylinder or V6 more aggressive to get V8 type performance. Here's a list of MPG across all engines.

https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Powe...=1&rowLimit=50

Based on the information above, the difference in the MPG from the 4-cylinder to the SC V8 is between 8-9 MPG. The tank is 19 gallons, which is roughly 171 miles, which means you'll probably pay an extra $40 to get the same range per tank. If you can manage an extra $40 a week (if you use a tank a week) then you have to ask yourself if you think it is worth it. I personally would be ok with sacrificing something like a daily Starbucks (the V8 should help with natural stimulant), maybe buy cheaper toiletries, keep your clothes for longer, or hell just put in an extra hour or two at work (if you're not salary). But, just make sure that you're 100% in with your decision.
Thanks!

For me now its more between the 3lt (for the options as a v6), but the LT1 for the v8.. they are pretty much the same price. I cant afford the 2ss at this point because i'm gonna lose so much on the Forte GT.

BUT yes when I had my 2014 v6... I did wish I got a V8 and will feel like i'll have that same regret again.

Don't buy a V6 then, nothing substantial has changed on that front except both have gotten faster for the 6th gen. You will have the same regret.

Any chance you can wait a bit longer and then buy a 2SS? Or maybe get a used one once prices on those start to drop, which is likely to happen?

I just feel like with a used one, i'm going to have to live with an option that I want and it wont have. and my fear is always what did the other person do to it and how did they drive it.

Look to the gig economy to help you with income. I went about 2 years before Covid and did Uber part time with my Mon-Fri job as my main source of income. I used my primary salary for all bills, and used my Uber/IT side-gigs as my "stupid" money. If I wanted a laptop, put in a few extra hours of Uber or perform a server upgrade for a local business (I prefer doing IT jobs as I get more per hour, but doing Uber for a few hours during happy hour was interesting). https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/tech-t...g-economy-apps

Of course, all of the above is contingent on whether or not you have a family as I can see where putting in 3-4 hours a day after work may not make for a happy home life.

Unfortunately with my current job I cant do that :(
I'll see what happens I'll make a build for v6 and v8 and then see what happens when I can order.

Although we don't know each other, I'd venture a bit of personal advice, because I've just found a thread you started back in April 2017 in which you were contemplating the exact same question (of whether or not to order a 2SS), and people gave you the same answers.

So, the worst decision you can make is indecision. I often struggle with this same mindset, so I can understand, but know that there is no perfect time or trim or set of options when ordering a new car. Actually, anything you do will carry some associated risk, and despite the fearmongering you may have heard, not all used Camaros are beaten, revved to the moon continuously for hours and treated like garbage with no maintenance. The LT1/LT4 can take some hard driving, the entire car is designed to be driven like a proper sports car.

You have just lost out on almost 5 years of pure enjoyment, don't make the same mistake again.

UPDATE:

After some moving stuff around... I will be able to get a 2ss!! I'm so excited!!

SOOO, tell me your favorite options and must get options!

I know about the Dual mode exhaust.

Is it worth getting a spoiler now? or down the line since it already comes with one.

Just the engine and trim level are whats driving me up the wall.
trim level...get the best as you will always be able to use the extra bells and whistles while you are in traffic.engine...this truly depends on your location and driving habits.i live in the 2nd fastest growing county in the USA and most of the time the V6 is more than enough.if you like doing burnouts and have lots of room on the road pop for the V8.

Ventilated seats are great on a long trip. I like the rear-view camera view on the mirror, but it's more gimmicky than anything, although it makes viewing behind you easier.

Hopefully you're making a great financial decision as being car poor can suck the life out of your social life but it also will force you to be disciplined as you'll find that you'll be more satisfied with what you drive. Good luck with your selections and congrats on the upgrade.

I
Vote summit white. I personally had alot of those features of a 2ss on a mustang gt i had and realized they didn’t matter to me.

I care about performance and handling. The only reason I like the npp is thw quad tips. I care not about making it quiet and at full open A Corsa or an AWE sound better.

I would personal buy an LT1 and super charge it for around the price of 2ss and eventually upgrade suspension. Wouldn’t have alot of the upgraded feature but it would be a beast on the streets and flexing on any stock 2ss at a cars and coffee.

If not that a 1ss 1LE. Want the performance over the tech.

Your car looks so nice! What spoiler is that, if you dont mind me asking?

Also I think I want tech and the v8 why I'm going for the 2ss, or else I would have went for the 3LT or LT1 like you said. I want the HUD and spectrum lighting, and the leather.

I had a V6 in the past and always wished I got a V8.
