Finally. Pockets for your phone.
I've been working on this idea for a while now and have a prototype close to ready.
The knee pads on the sides of the tranny? Pockets on each knee pad. Would fit a cell phone standing upside down or other limited little things. Who would be interested in buying one, and how much would you pay for it? Please be honest as this will help me gauge wether the project is viable to run.

I’d be interested to see a prototype, I mean somewhere from $20 I’d pay?

Price would correlate with fit/finish/quality/material/design aesthetic. Very interested.

Not quite big enough. The pocket with a phone for example in it would only stick out maybe an inch out at most

I use my iPad mini on trips sometimes for Waze. I made this with some Velcro on an oversized phone holder I got off Amazon so I had a place for my phone. It’s leather and smells nice too! I think the knee pad holder would be kind of obtrusive.

I am looking for a clever way to hold the phone and a pair of sunglasses. I like the idea of having it velcro to the carpet on the trans tunnel.
When I owned my Porsche Boxster, I bought a really nice phone mount from Rennline that held the phone magnetically and was very small. Check out what Rennline offers at http://www.rennline.com/Phone-Mounts/products/1830/. We might be able to get this guy to develop a Camaro mount. |

There is one area I drive through on the way home from work where if I don't have my phone (Galaxy S4) up on the dash, the reception is very bad. I used to leave my phone in a cupholder all the time, but I got complaints that I was breaking up when I went through this one area on a major highway connecting Boston to Cape Cod (so not the middle of nowhere). This makes me wonder if putting the phone down beside the transmission is the best location for good cell reception. Just a thought.

Looking at that picture it seems like your prototype needs to be wider. Some phone cases are very thick! And TPU on the cases can make it hard to get into and out of that cover.
