Help Me Choose A Roll Race Tire Plz!

So i'm still in the stages of getting all my things together to beef up the driveline (drive shaft and axles)... In the mean time, I'd like to put a solid roll racing tire on my 17 inch racestar wheel... But I'm having a hard time deciding.

Currently going to be running 245/40/20s in the front (nt555 extreme), need a tire that won't vibrate the drive line at a 40 roll. I was looking at the MT ET STREET Bias ply tires 28x11.5x17 i believe... But a few people have mentioned that these are sketch for roll racing and that I would be better off with a drag radial version of this tire or another 17 inch drag radial all together.

People with experience at or near my power level... What can I do to grip at 40? I'm currently running nt555g2s. I could probably get some more traction from them if i went to like 25-26psi instead of 30... But I have the 17s, might as well put them to good use

Back up to the top. Any help would be awesome

Also curious about, in an m6, whether or not going with a 26 tall tire over a 28 would be beneficial from a roll.

315/35/17 hoosiers sound tempting but they'll be smaller and I'm not sure if that'll do good things for a 40 to 140 run

I have 315/35-18 Toyo TQs and they've been great.

They fit real nice on a set of C5Z replica wheels with a 3mm spacer

18" wheels help gearing, 19" less, 20" ugh! Sticky tires are for many too expensive and don't dd very far. Don't roll race is a good answer. I run thru the twisty's but street racing is illegal, I have "No Luck" in any illegal activity, so I just Don't!

Loll "Don't roll race"

I mean, thanks gents!

Now that we got that out of the way;

I'm trying to pick between the MT ET Street Rs and the Hoosier 315/35/17s

28inch vs 26inch... For a M6. Roll racing (until I can get my drivetrain shit together... I'll snap things dig racing so yah) I'm trying to start at 40 so I don't go too high MPH wise.

I am not sure its a good idea to mix a bias ply rear tire with a front radial, regardless of roll or dig.

Is it unthinkable to expect any non drag radial, high performance summer tire to hold traction from a stop in a bolt on LT1? The stock Goodyear's almost held second with zero spin. I'm not talking about dead hooking in 1st since so many other factors are involved like road surface ect.

It seems like the only tires you can get besides DRs are for cornering

You really don't need to worry snapping anything unless you use slicks. Go with the Mickey's, grab yourself a $150 driveshaft loop for piece of mind, and have fun launching from a dig. My entire rear-end is stock aside from the upper and lower trailing arms (so I don't get wheel hop) and I haven't had a single problem.

I am no expert, but I don't agree with this comment. Just take MT ET Street Rs, as you move down in wheel diameter along with taller sidewalls, the tire will have more bite, and breakage probability will increase. For example, guys running a 275/50/R15 can have significant breakage problems.

I've got a pair of 17s...

So here is where I'm at I guess.

ET street R 305/45/17

or

The Hoosier 315/35/17

The difference here being; just about 28 inches on the ET street R and about 26 inches on the Hoosiers.

Any reason one would go with 26 over 28? I think the 26 is going to look a bit funny too haha, not that it matters when the gap train chugs along!

I'll start launching when I have the cash together for both a DS and half shafts I'm guessing around April or closer to Summer i should have that sorted out.

26" tall tire will give you a lower effective gear ratio than a 28", while a taller sidewall should provide more grip than a shorter sidewall.
