2018 Camaro SS headlight upgrade project!

I Just ordered my Osram CBI’s , and some clear lenses to improve the cutoff! I am so pumped to do this, the last time I did this was on my 05 645ci and what an insane difference that made on output! Any way once these come in I’ll do a write up on this post and show you guys all the steps and the end result!

Stay tuned!

I have liked the CBI's I have used in the past. I did clear lenses on a retrofit on my RSX a few years ago. The Camaro is the first car that I have felt no need to modify the lighting on. I find the factory headlights to be outstanding. Will be interesting to see how your mods change the lighting.

Looking forward to the outcome. I've been wanting to do the CBIs but was worried the color temp would make the DRLs look yellow.

I have thought about changing my bulb out too, not too keen on the factory 4300K bulbs, too yellow for me. I personally prefer 5000K is the perfect temperature for bulbs in my opinion.

Let us know how hard they are to change out, have heard one side is easy than the other. I have change plenty of HID bulbs out and some cars are just a PITA to get to the bulbs.

Sounds good. Any pics? Do the CBIs match the color of the DRLs? I am between those and the Philips Xtremevision.

Before

After

I know it’s really close to the door but that’s all I have for now, I had a lot of trouble getting the headlights apart so I have a show swapping the clear lenses out for me and tuning the projector. I should have the headlights back tomorrow evening or Sunday afternoon ! Once I have them back on you guys will get better pics

I will say this the CBI’s are amazing even with stock lenses they match the DRL just slightly more white. But the light beam is spread out a lot more

Do CBIs and Philips bulbs actually put out more measurable light, or are they only higher color temperature?

And who makes our OEM bulbs?

Depends on which model bulbs you buy from Osram or Phillips, I can’t such much about Phillips as I have not tried any of their products, the stock bulbs in the SS are Phillips 4300k
