Advise on Track Tires
Have a set of ARC-8s on order, 19x11 and 19x12. I was looking at the possibility of used racing slicks as an option for next year's track season. Was wondering if anyone has used racing slicks and what size you went with without any issues. Looking at 690/705 mm, but I believe they might be too tall. Any advise/suggestions/ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony

690s work I hear as they are close to the magic 27.2-27.5" range. 705s will rub the wheel liners and are a bit too tall

Thanks Stephen,
Yes, the 690 converts to 27.15 and the 705 to 27.75. I thought maybe both were too tall. |

from used racing tires website...these are the typical Pirelli slicks that I going to try. I'm going to use the same tire on all 4 wheels even though the ZLE wheels are staggered.

That is what I was looking at as well! Might be a prudent for me to change the ARC-8s to a square setup! Although it would be great to have the 12 in the rear, it seems there are much better selection of 305s than 325s in both street, competition and racing slicks.

Good luck finding the 690s for sale. I don't think they are used in the Ferrari Challenge series anymore and don't know if they are even manufactured.
Basically if you want to run take off slicks, you better buy 18s. Edit: looks like used racing tires has them back in stock, but who knows how many / how long. I'd still recommend 18s if slicks are your plan. Last edited by TheRealJA105; 11-20-2020 at 12:15 PM. |

Keep stock width but go down to 18's. I went with 18x11 +9 front and 18x12 +41 rear on my ZLE. I plan to run 315/30-18 and 335/30-18 tires.
